Since a while (about 1 month) none of the versions of Sandbolck plus work. It refuses to run any programs. I start it and after a few seconds it stops and deletes the process. See system signature. Above I saw a similar problem on 32 bit system, but mine is 64 bit.

Please help me! How can I fix the problem? Thank you in advance for your answers!

Did you try without ESET or HMP?

Confirmed! Sandboxie now also detects the enabled 8.3 name support of the RAM disk. Thanks a lot! :thumb:

Yes, I tried. The problem still occurred. After the Windows update this week, I had this problem again, so I reset it to the pre-update state (macrium backaup), it worked then, but it worked right after the update too, it was fine, but then it happened again. I had this problem with older windows 11, but then reinstalling the older sandboxie solved it, but now nothing helps. It occurs with all sandboxie versions. It seems to me that there might be something wrong with Windows 11. In Windows Services, the built-in sandbox is turned off.

Yet you are right. I uninstalled ESET (latest 16-so version) updated yesterday and Sandboxie is working. I put ESET v.16 back and again Sandboxie does not work.

The conflict is between Sandboxie and the latest ESET Samart Security (version 16).

Hi David, can I ask a few quick questions here?

I've been using SBIE for many years now and love that you have picked up development after the open source switch. It must be time consuming and difficult.

I use the classic x64 version. I like that when I install it, it has the base level of sandbox security and can be tweaked with added settings.

I've been watching the plus releases thinking I might switch at some point, and that's where my questions are.

Does the classic version change during these updates? It seems like mostly they are for the custom switches of the plus version.

Is there a differing level of base security between the 2? The plus version is evolving into a (relatively) dizzying array of options which is great, but the learning curve to use them correctly is also evolving.

Is the default when you install either the same, and then after you can set custom options?

On one hand I like the install and forget nature of the classic, but don't want to miss anything in the plus version.

With some help here, I've customized the classic a bit to add some forced things and additional sandboxes but that's about as far as I need to go (I think).

Thanks for all you do and sorry if these answers are in these threads somewhere. I think I have a small case of update anxiety for my favorite piece of software. :D

@feerf56 Try disabling the banking/safe browsing protection in Eset.

In addition to the browser protection, I disabled the full protection too, but this was nor enough, probably because ESET services are still running in this case too. Somewhere the conflict may be with the ESET services.

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but what does that mean exactly? Will there be a 1.5.2 version with signed installers released too? Thanks.

@pb1 Assuming you are using Sandboxie-Plus
    1. Double click on the sandbox name to open options window.
    2. Scroll down and select Edit ini Section then click Edit ini
    3. Change the following code according to your browser
      Code:
      OpenFilePath=YourBrowser.exe,*\YourBrowsersProfileFolder\*
    4. Copy and paste the code to the end of the ini section then click Save.
    5. Click OK to close the window.

That semeed to work but it did not show up among the other browser templates. Is that not possible?
It worked to save a site so i guess all else will but, does it implement all the options as for the other browsers in the template list? I would want to choose which alternatives to activate. Force start in sandboxie for instance i want to exclude

So if i do this, will my browser show up in the template list?

Yes i will contact David about this since he is a doing a lot of simplifying changes to S-boxie and this is a unnecessary tideous work. It should be smooth and easy to add a browser.

Most bigger browsers are already included. Which one do you use?

    In general:
We only got one active sandboxie dev. If we burn him out with hundred of requests we got no sandboxie anymore.

Thanks for your work on sandboxie David. Take breaks and do other fun things also :)

Unfortunately, virtually all Sandboxie versions (calssic and plus) will not run with the new ESET Smart Securiy (v. 16.0.22.0) (with or without Sandboxie compatibility).

    1. If I uninstall ESET, it works fine.

    2. If I turn off ESET browser protection, it does not work.

    3. If I turn off ESET's full protection, that doesn't help either. In this case, the ESET drivers are enabled, but they cannot be disabled.

    4. After installing ESET 16, but before initializing the protection, Sandboxie still works, but once ESET is initialized, it does not.

Can you help me with this? Thank you very much!

Have you asked the ESET support? Maybe they can help you troubleshot what Eset doesn't like (in sandboxie) and e.g needs to be whitelisted or so.

Yes, I will ask, but ESET has not given me any message about possible blocking of Sandboxie.

Thanks for the reply. Browser protection cannot play a role in this, because it did not work even after disabling it. Neither did putting it on the exception list.

There have been problems in the past with some versions, but it has never been the case that Sandboxie didn't work with any version.

Windows v10.0.18362.356 (32-bit), Sandboxie v5.60.2, Firefox v106.0.3. When I start Firefox sandboxed I get a bunch of "SBIE2205 Service not implemented: Wow64FunctionTurboThunkControl C00000BB" messages and then when I close/terminate too.
