I tested G DATA two years ago, and found a serious bug in it. Reported it and their Tier 1 team could not reproduce the bug, but their Tier 2 team was able to.
Now after two years i installed G DATA again, but the bug is still there. Reported it about two weeks ago and they replied that it will be fixed on the next software update.
It is a feature called "Monitor critical folders in particular".
I've adjusted the virus monitor settings, so it checks the files "only check on execution" and i set "Monitor critical folders in particular" to check %appdata% (read and write, so it overrides only check on execution setting).
If you close the GUI, then re-open the GUI, the "Monitor critical folders in particular" is resetted. I really hope that they fix this serious bug, because i really like G Data and its DeepRay and BEAST features.

I subscribe to SpyShelter (SS) Premium. Five days ago, I submitted a support ticket for a relatively minor question. After receiving no response for 5 days (SS Support usually responds within 1-2 days), I started to write a "hurry up and get on the ball" follow up. However, I belatedly remembered that SS is home-based in Poland, a nation which is directly next to an on-going war. Further, Poland has born the brunt of receiving millions of refugees from that war. So, instead of a gripe, I sent them a message of support and understanding.

Surprisingly, SS Support replied within an hour. I will paraphrase the gist of their reply:

"Thanks for understanding and boosting.
We are still ok, helping neighbours.
Though I fear ... our country might become a battleground.
Strange times have come."

Hi,
Spyshelter silent does not work on my win 11 home, could not load driver. Its something about driver thing!
Just to let you all know!

 

I still have a lifetime license, but I don't use SS anymore because its driver is not compatible with Windows 10 and 11 core isolation. Disabling core isolation solves the problem. But this is something like choosing between a knife or a stick to defend yourself.

 

I suggest you send them a support request. They have always answered my requests promptly & helpfully. Yours, too, I hope.

Strange, looking at Spyshelter's website I don't see the Firewall version anymore.

 

Select other language, can still see the firewall version.

 

I see that, strange not in English though.
I know it was there not long ago.

@mood -- Dropping their firewall (FW) is a very wise move for Spyshelter. Windows has a built in FW plus there are many 3rd party FWs that are based on Windows internal FW apparatus. That is the very reason I chose to subscribe to Spyshelter Premium version (it does not include the FW).

Spyshelter Premium offers strong security, using methods that are either missing or under-powered in AVs and other security apps.

 

I have to disagree because when it comes to anti-spyware apps, they should always offer a basic firewall which can block outbound connections. Also, the network monitor is one of my favorite features in SS, so it would be a bad move to remove this. Why not simply discontinue SS FW and add the features to SS Premium, this would make more sense. I would like to know Datpol's motivation for doing this.

if they just remove restricted app and firewall tab then there is a not much problem
and still good to use but not other feature.

@Moose World -- SpyShelter is a LONG time out of beta. Its latest updates for current releases were issued just several weeks ago, in 2022.
