These frequent releases are also important for filter updates.
I have noticed that many members, even from other forums, are using AdGuard MV3 stably in some browsers.
At this stage it is certainly a mistake because the extension has not been updated since August,so the filter lists are also missing updates.

It is therefore better to use UBO Lite.

I find the cosmetic filtering of AdGuard MV3 so much better than uBO Lite.
That is for me the main reason for staying with AdGuard MV3.

You are absolutely right, cosmetic filtering is undoubtedly better.
You also use Edge which has anti-trackers functionality.
So you are in a better security/privacy condition than other forum members using other Chromium-based browsers without anti-trackers features.

But keep in mind that Edge cannot block CNAME trackers, only adblocker can do that.
Since we don't know what lists are in the default AdGuard MV3 lists I would advise you,for your added security/privacy to add the list as well:

    • AdGuard CNAME original disguised trackers list
Tried now it is not possible to add the list.
The original one I don't think is usable because of the limitations of Chromium-based browsers.
The disguised one has too many rules.

Only solution use Next DNS with CNAME trackers feature enabled.

I get a 100 out of 100 perfect score with UBO Lite on the Adblock Tester... https://adblock-tester.com/ It does better than UBO that only gets a 96 score.

Yes, I get 100% on that test (adblock tester) with the typical lists on regular uBO. Nothing special or advanced about it.

Even with this build of UBO Lite, cosmetic filtering for the websites I frequent is still insufficient.
I have noticed that I can roughly halve "my annoyances" with huge lists in Next DNS that I don't want to enable for possible more likely false positives.

    I am staying with UBO.

For my needs both UBO Lite and AdGuard MV3 are not at a sufficient level.

We have till June 2023, so there is still plenty of time.
Google to test disabling Chrome Manifest V2 extensions in June 2023 (bleepingcomputer.com)
It is good to see the developments in uBO Lite :thumb:

But that goes actually against the stated benefits of MV3. See @gorhill 's remark regarding removeparam :
So this brings us back to the question: what's the point of introducing MV3 aside from deliberately crippling adblockers?

I understand that, but I as end-user just want an adblocker that works.
It is encouraging that uBO Lite and AdGuard MV3 are under active development.
So there is still some hope for an ad free future on chromium-based browsers.

    Fastcompany.com has been hacked.

I would like to advise forum members who use UBO Lite (but also AdGuard MV3) to consider that URL tracking parameters cannot be removed from these MV3 extensions.
    At least currently.

    P.S.

It is interesting to consider that Firefox ( without UBO) partly succeeds in removing URL tracking parameters.
In contrast, almost all Chromium-based browsers fail to do so (probably except Brave).

But even Firefox for total proper removal needs a specific list in UBO.

UBO Lite 9301 can eliminate URL tracking parameters:

    https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/releases/tag/uBOLite_0.1.22.9301

I have done several tests and it works perfectly:

    2.jpg

If possible, I would like to recommend that mr.Hill also include the following list for blocking the Cookies warning:

    "AdGuard Cookie Notices filter":

    https://filters.adtidy.org/windows/filters/18.txt

    TH.:thumb:;):)

    P.S.

If the next release of UBO Lite succeeds in blocking cookie warnings I might even consider installing the extension permanently in my Edge browser.
Obviously in this case,I would have to replace the lists currently in Next DNS.

I had read that there are some limitations.
It matters little at this preliminary stage.
I have never opened any of the websites affected by the exceptions......

UBO Lite surpasses AdGuard MV3 in this aspect.

I don't see any promoted tweets anymore but not because of UBO or UBO MV3 because i turned them off and still did not get any promoted tweets. I still get promoted tweets on my Android phone.

I requested a Privacy enhancement for UBO Lite.
I hope this is an easy request to implement in the future.
If anyone has better ideas,I invite you to propose them to the developer.:thumb:
If this young extension improves,it is a great benefit to us all.:)

Your request is already better than anything I could come up with ;):thumb:

TBH, I'm most interest in just blocking ads. Anything in addition to that is icing on the cake :D
