Before I stopped using it, I ran SD for years on two systems with ssd's never a problem.

Well, just like most folk, when you find something that you like even better, you move on.

And moved on to what? I would be interested because I still find SD works great for me but having recently moved on to Win11 (from 7), I am disappointed that I have to disable Fast StartUp to remain compatible.

Well, a couple of things. First, if you're using ssd's, then you may not notice much by turning off Fast StartUp, I sure didn't.

Second, ShadowDefender is simple with very little learning curve. What I use now had a huge learning curve, at least for this idiot. I use a combo of surfing using Linux, inside of a virtual machine, VMWare's Workstation Pro, with Macrium Reflect for recovery, although I have never had to recover due to infection (I also have Image For Windows and DriveSnapshot on my system should Macrium ever fail me, fat chance).

For those of you familiar with vm's, you know that if you revert to the last Snapshot without saving the Machine State, that's basically identical to using ShadowDefender or DeepFreeze, everything is deleted, its as if you never even used your pc in the first place.

Much more work getting it all set up, but fun as heck, I had a ball.

Thanks Arcadia. I have a new powerful machine with SSDs and it starts up fast enough, so you are right that it's no big deal to have to turn off Fast Startup.
The fact that SD is simple with a small learning curve is what I like about it! I'll stick with what I know and trust!

EDIT The other real plus about SD is that it was cheap to buy and has been used on three machines since including my new W11 PC. I've been through many security programs over the years, but always stuck with SD.

    Salutations and Greetings,
    * Are there any problems with Windows 11 Versions and/or ShadowDefender:)? Details/Example's:)?
    * Besides Fast Startup and SSDs. Thoughts/Opinions are welcome.
    * Which one offer better protection ShadowDefender or DeepFreeze. And can use with existing security
just in case, something gets through the cracks:)? Thoughts/Opinions are welcome.

Regardless of what file I select on the Commit Now list, applied changes goes for both files. This the very well known default normal behavior for it was designed.
    But
I would love to see SD be able to commit changes for individual or any selected files at once, not all at once.

Right click on the desired file is not practical for me cause the real path I use is long to start browsing through File Explorer.
Sometimes I need to commit changes of several files at once not all, sometimes all of them and so on.

This is a request for Tony developer.

    x, that's an all-or-nothing list. you can't commit a single file/folder.

If Softpedia is a credible source, the last time SD was updated is on or around 8/20. If popularity, recent updates, and empirical evidence to show the effectiveness of Faronics Deep Freeze matter, then that's where I'm hatching my eggs.

What must be excluded regarding sandboxie? I want the following situation:
    - after changing settings in sandboxie the changes are kept after reboot
    - sandboxed apps continue to work after reboot
    - when updating sandboxie the updates keep working after reboot

(What registry items and what file(s)/folder(s)?)

Assuming you're using Sandboxie installed version not portable and its default paths:
Put in the File Exclusion List two ini files: Sandboxie.ini and Sandboxie-Plus.ini
Put in the File Exclusion List this folder: C:\Sandbox
Even better, create another partition and set there the container folder. Obviously this other partition must never be included in shadow mode.
Nope, not exclusions on this one. Get out of shadow mode, update then apply sbie's update, next get in shadow mode again.

Sure is. And @stapp - have you in the years since first becoming a Windows user yourself, have you ever tested or used Shadow Defender. If so any opinions would also be helpful i think. Since im still old school SD is been magnificent here and i really haven't had anything jump or escape it. And as many know i spent a good deal of time testing malware without VM's but RAW right on a Windows system. One of the worst i encountered and detest to this very day is that notorious Sality Virus. That thing is a feeder on file infecting and it even distorted the Shadow Defender folder in Program Files once. Thought i was doomed but i yanked the plug forcing a hard shutoff. On new startup you would never have known anything (or any file) had ever been touched. Amazing. And why it's the program of choice i use to test a variety of ransomwares/malwares and always comes back clean afterward. So far.

Easter I have been using Shadow Defender for quite a few years now and have a couple of paid versions as well as a Give Away of the Day one.
Never had any problems with it. Use it mainly for testing new software.

@stapp- Great to know. SD for me is also been one of those truly rare programs that at least on this end i have had no issues with it whatsoever considering the manner in which it was designed. It even performs well on a Windows 10 DELL i have. And i threw everything but the kitchen sink at it and on reboot it came back in the same state and condition as if the system wasn't hammered at all. Let's hope it just keeps on doing it's functions as always and i really hope it can adapt to everything Microsoft makes changes with on the newer versions.

I wish i could offer you some useful advice to that particular SD commit feature. Someone more using of that practice i hope can chime in with helpful advice one way or the other.

Personally i tested commit only a few time since it was first introduced but i really never bother with it whatsoever.
It committed the selected choices i made while in Shadow Mode on reboot then so i didn't see any issue. Not to say that one might exist, but that's a feature i don't use. For me it's full virtualization then dumping the session on reboot or shutdown.
