"A shocking report claims that EVGA, a 20-year veteran of the GPU market and one of Nvidia’s biggest partners, is exiting the graphics card business entirely.

As one of the most visible brands selling graphics cards to consumers, its exit from the marketplace will have huge ramifications going forward.

EVGA will continue to sell its current supply of graphics cards, but will not design new hardware as Nvidia debuts its GeForce RTX 4000 series of GPUs.

The report comes from GamersNexus, a reliable source...in a 30-minute exposé. The video cites interviews directly with leaders at EVGA and quotes founder and CEO Andrew Han and chief branding officer Joe Darwin...

According to EVGA, long-simmering discontent between the company and its most crucial supplier have led to a definitive falling out. Apparently, this was known by Nvidia’s leadership as far back as April. EVGA complains that it was consistently given product information far too late in the development cycle, even failing to disclose the price of chips until the MSRP of Nvidia-branded graphics cards was announced to the public...

The company has stated unequivocally that it has no interest in building new graphics cards based on chip designs from AMD or new competitor Intel..."

    This is HUGE !!

EVGA's cards are one of, if not the most popular Nvidia cards.

EVGA has the best customer support in the industry.

I’ve always been a big fan of the quality of EVGA products and how they support their customers.

Despite being top tier cards EVGA has had the most reasonable pricing.

Yes, I read about this elsewhere. EVGA is also on my very short to-get list. I'm due for a new graphics card and this is going to seriously mess with my plans as I was looking toward the 4000 series.

NV, I hope you're not too far gone that you can't mend some big-time fences. But I think about that shady stuff with miners and the supply-chain crisis and I'm thinking it's over. Let's hope it's temporary, though.

Read about it first on Steam, then searched on Twitter as I happen to follow EVGA there. But nothing yet, just this.

When MS announced that you would not be able to install W7 on future Intel cards I built a new system with an Intel i7-6700CPU @ 3.40 GHz x 8 and EVGA GeForce 1080Ti.
This has served me very well, with the GPU still punching well above its weight today, even against most of the new GeForce RTX 30 Series Gaming Graphics Cards.

It has always been one of my go to products, and still today at newegg.com there is not one EVGA EVGA GeForce RTX 30 series video card that rates less than a 4.

I won't miss them. They make it inconvenient to to make a warranty claim and now their warranty is just a couple of years instead of lifetime. If they don't want to stand behind their products I have no incentive to buy them vs. someone else's.

How will EVGA ever sustain itself now? On the surface, it looks like it's cutting off its nose to spite its face! What the heck happened there? NV is/was responsible for like 80% of its revenue stream from graphics cards, I read. Let's face it: EVGA makes some good products but is not reknowned for its coolers or motherboards.

    Def. will be staying tuned....

To be honest, I have never heard of EVGA before? I do know that Nvidia is in a bit of trouble on the stock market because of bitcoin's price has plummeted and they used to make lots of money from the stupid coinmining stuff, they sold lots of GPU's just for this.

Thanks but like I said, I didn't know they were this big. When I think of third party GPU's I think of Gigabyte, MSI and ASUS. Actually, I've just checked it out, they have a revenue of about $80 million, so they are actually a small player.

"EVGA is easily Nvidia’s top GPU partner, and the favorite pick among Nvidia enthusiasts.

Their cooler designs offer a great amount of variety, too, from short-but-triple-slot GPUs to liquid-cooled GPUs...

If you’re an Nvidia user and especially if you liquid cool your PC, EVGA is a great high-performance GPU option that’s been lauded for its good customer service."

Yes, and also mice, keyboards, power supplies, cases and mainboards. But I think all of those combined don't make up even close to what they were pulling in from gpu sales.

Well, presumably EVGA people thought about it long and hard, as this was not an impetuous decision. I wish them very well. :(

OK cool, didn't know about this, I'm not really into building machines. And Plat, what happened to your username, can't we get the old one back?

I haven't spotted a why yet. Have they given one? In any case, moving forward there is nothing wrong with an NVIDIA reference card or an ASUS.

There was little more than what was in this YouTube video that was initially posted on Steam. GamersNexus is a very trusted source so I believe pretty much everything he is talking about. He does report EVGA will be down-sizing but NOT selling the company. He reported the relationship has been going downhill for "quite some time." EVGA was talking about exiting the gpu market already in April.

I think the crashing crypto market has something to do with it but this is just a suspicion. But EVGA says "it's not a money thing, it's a principle thing."

It's a valid suspicion. Thanks for the info.

too sad, evga was most reliable, worth any penny such hardware. and the usa marketshare is/was about 40 per cent, which is not small.

the new generation rtx 40 is really hot, a lot more power for only few power usage (watt) more. but nvidia is raising prices... too bad, that evga is leaving that market.

    btw - whats in a name? ;)

Probably one of your best bets. If I were buying they would be at the top of the list, along with an NVIDIA branded card. I would also be willing to consider GIGABYTE but not much else.

Asus makes the best top-tier AIB cards, expensive....and the worst budget cards too.

I prefer ASRock, PowerColor and MSI for AMD, and Asus, Colorful and Inno3D for NVIDIA. All of these brands have been super reliable for me over the past few years.

I've heard things that gigabyte customer support is awful, wouldn't be my first pick. On another note, in 2014 i got a palit gtx 770 back when it was the 3rd best gpu at the market (so like rtx 3070 right now), the only ones better than it were the 780 and the 780 ti. I poured water over it accidentally and it was gone... But i still had my warranty, so i went to the retailer from which i bought it, they sent it to Palit (prob didn't mention the water spillage thing), and then i got a nice new card like a week later. Which failed a few months after my warranty was over so prob wasn't brand new... But hey they replaced a water-spilled gpu that costed a lot of money (equivalent to rtx 3070 right now), that's some pretty good customer support

ASUS is probably the safest bet for most. I'll never buy anything AMD again.
