Avast products are going to be merged with LifeLock, so at least its LifeLock who aquired that extension and/or its developer. i do not use the extension nor the list for a long time now and miss nothing. LifeLock is harvesting the market. but thats another story:

What a shame, there is currently no replacement, I imagine that Avast did not buy it for the love of privacy or whatever, they plan to use it for something. I will give it 6 months before it has to be "attended". Either way, removed.

 

Maybe Consent-O-Matic will prove to be a worthy replacement?

I do not use any content blocker, but I have looked through the store and I have found Cookie Dialog Monster, it is updated and it is on github. It has a huge user's base, about 38, but that is about to change soon.

 

Yeah, I'm not jumping for joy that Avast acquired it but I don't want to do any hasty decisions and will wait a while to see what direction it takes. However if I find any equivalent or even better one, I will ditch it.

Same here, I don't trust Avast, why would they buy this, it doesn't make any sense, other than to spy on us. Deleted it right away, but I hope the developer got a nice paycheck.

Oh yes, forgot about the Avast Secure Browser, it looks cool but I simply don't trust them. And it's not real clear to me how to add it. Will wait for a new extension.
