I always thought "VoodooShield" sounded a little too cutesy for what the software does but at least it got your attention. "CyberLock" doesn't seem very distinguished--sounds kind of bland and nondescript. If it came down to having to choose just between the two, I'd stick with VoodooShield.

Trying to think of another name but nothing jumping out at me. "VoodooLock" doesn't cut it. Hmmm.

If you search that online, there's plenty by that name already in existence. Dang! Not as easy as one would expect. I mean, you're going from something instantly recognizable to something kinda ho-hum (sorry, Dan--just sayin').

Maybe just the mere thought and discussion of switching names is a turn-off to changing it now? :)

for my money, dan should focus on redesigning the product's ui rather than changing its name. :ninja:

Dan has mentioned a name change many years ago because of Voodoo and I understand his reasoning from a business point of view so I like CyberLock.

Using StartPage here as a search engine and the first thing that comes up for CyberShield is a patented cover for plastics. The second choice prompts a warning from Firefox about the site's having an expired certificate. Yikes!

Dan was always emphasizing that VS is a computer lock. But I can't think of anything along those lines that would resonate like "VoodooShield." Why does he want to change the name, though?

I always wondered how they even came up with Voodoo as part of the name. Anybody know?

I would assume that there has to be some superstitious people out there that won't use it because of the name. That said I have no better suggestion. :(

I think that it's much simpler. The man is just getting bored. His creations are in the meantime perfect. So he has nothing else to do.
