That's why I was so disappointed because to be honest, Vivaldi never really introduced major or annoying bugs until Vivaldi 5.1 and this might turn new users off, so it's really unacceptable. They should strive for a higher quality. But like I said, I wouldn't even care that much if I could simply downgrade to an older version while maintining my settings and extensions.

And Vivaldi Sync might help, but I'm not yet ready to use such a cloud based service, especially because I also save passwords inside the browser. And we all know that password managers from browsers aren't that safe, they should really beef things up, I rather see them investing time into this kind of stuff.

Seems like the bug with the ''zooming while mouse is over tabs'' has been fixed somehow, because I didn't report it. The bug with ''bookmarks being added to the rootfolder'' has been fixed too. What hasn't been fixed is the bug with ''not being able to search when selecting text''. And sadly enough, the bug with the ''bookmark dialog staying open'' has also not been fixed.

And I have tested it with a new profile and also with the older Vivaldi 3.8 which I still had installed, and this version doesn't have these bugs. So I doubt it's a problem with my system. And JaneN, you never replied to me about my idea on how to fix the problem, and that is to simply never show the bookmark dialog when bookmarking a website, similar to how Firefox does this. Of course this must be optional.

@Rasheed187, I'm glad to hear that many of the bugs you've encountered have been fixed, I'm sure the bookmark dialog fix will reach Vivaldi Stable soon as well.
Regarding your suggestion to make opening the dialog as an option. It's already an option when using a shortcut to add pages as bookmarks. Why the setting isn't applied to the Address Bar, I don't know, but I brought it to the dev team's attention.

The last two releases indeed have been a bit buggy at first and for this we're very sorry and we'll do our best to avoid it with upcoming releases.

Thanks for bringing this to the attention of the developers, the problem with the bookmark dialog should be easily fixed this way. BTW, you said you couldn't reproduce the problem with selecting text, just try to select the text written on the images on the www.ad.nl site, you shouldn't be able to do it via the rightclick context menu.

USA still the best. But barely.
I just hope he's happy with the $1 Billion he got from selling Opera. And doesn't sell Vivaldi.

BTW, I have checked out the latest version and it still hasn't fixed the problem with the bookmark dialog and the problem with not being able to search for text on certain sites. I will make new bug reports, but what the heck is going on with Vivaldi?

I don't see any reason for him to sell right now, but yeah eventually they will need to make more money. They should make a deal with Google like Firefox does and perhaps they can launch a Vivaldi Pro version for companies, or something like that.

I haven't checked it out, because I'm pretty sure that all of the bugs that I reported still haven't been fixed. Other than that, it's still the best browser out there, so all in all I'm pretty happy, I just wish they would hire better developers, no disrespect. I mean there is so much stuff to be improved, like less RAM usage, a better password manager, a better adblocker, better tab stacking.

I agree it's the best browser available for my needs. The only feature it lacks for my purposes is the ability to lock/protect tabs. Sometimes I inadvertently click on a link (on a page I want to keep) without first right-clicking and selecting "open link in new tab"; this results in the current page being replaced by the new page. Being able to lock a tab/page would prevent that.

I have to admit, I'm not following you. I suppose for me a ''lock tab'' option would be handy to prevent accidentally closing a tab? BTW, another annoying bug in Vivaldi is that when sending DM's on Instagram it might sometimes start to freeze while Vivaldi's is using 100% of the CPU and you can't always simply close this freezing tab. However, I do have to admit that on my machine, Vivaldi stays in memory for days without restart, so this may play a role, but it still shouldn't happen.

You're right that locking the tab would also prevent it from being closed by disabling/removing the "X". FYI I edited my post to provide a hopefully better explanation, so maybe good back and have another look.

Now I indeed understand it better, but I simpy use the mouse middle click for opening pages in the background. Perhaps it can also be configured to open tabs in the foreground.

JaneN, if you are still there, are any of the bugs that I reported been fixed yet?

I'd be interested to hear from those who are using the Vivaldi email and calendar features. I already use Gmail/webmail and Outlook.com for both email and calendaring and at first glance I don't see how using Vivaldi would be much different.
