I have a minor issue here with the shortcut / icon on the taskbar of a sandboxed Firefox:

Unfortunately, the right-click menu always offers only "Close window". Therefore, I cannot pin the shortcut / icon of a sandboxed Firefox to the taskbar.

I can of course pin the shortcut / icon of a non-sandboxed Firefox to the taskbar, but then the sandboxed Firefox gets its own shortcut / icon next to it.

However, this issue only occurs with non-admin users on a terminal server (based on Windows 10). I have never seen this issue on any other system.

The issue has existed for a while. I suspect that it is due to a change in Firefox, since the installation of older Sandboxie versions have not fixed the issue.

What could be the cause of this? What needs to be opened for it to work correctly again?

@DavidXanatos Do you perhaps have a spontaneous idea or a tip?

Hi AP, perhaps you could create a sandboxed shortcut for Firefox and move it to the taskbar. Doing that would give you what I think you want.

    Thanks for the reply.

Do you mean a new shortcut using "...\Sandboxie\Start.exe"? Unfortunately this does not work either, the sandboxed Firefox also gets its own icon next to it.

Or did you mean another way to create a "sandboxed" shortcut?

    1) Delete Firefox icon from taskbar
    2) Open sandboxed Firefox
    3) The Firefox icon will appear again in the taskbar. Right-click on it and choose 'Pin to taskbar'

Now when you open Firefox using the icon on the taskbar, you will see only one icon and not two. Hope this helps you!

Thank you. But the problem is that the option is not offered in the right-click menu, only "Close window".

@DjKilla Thank you for the information and links.

However, unfortunately, everything has nothing to do with it. As I wrote in my first post, the issue only occurs with a sandboxed Firefox with the normal users (= no administrator rights) on a terminal server.

With a non-sandboxed Firefox or administrator rights the issue does not occur. The issue does not occur with any other sandboxed program either.

It is therefore unfortunately a very specific issue, which probably only occurs with Firefox and Sandboxie on a terminal server.
