Norton Security 22.22.4.11 for Windows is now available! https://community.norton.com/en/blo...norton-security-2222411-windows-now-available
I had norton for 20 years but dropped it because of the the advertising pop ups. It is just adware now. Disgraceful behaviour for an av company
A kind of Frankenstein company right now TBH. Hopefully some of the good from Bullguard, Avira and in the future Avast/AVG will rub off on them.
Isn't Norton the purchaser and not the purchasee? I expect them to rub things the other way. Bullguard, Avira, Norton, Avast, AVG. If they pick up another company starting with "N" they can use the acronym banana.
Yeah, plenty of posts on their forum about that and I have made it quite clear to the forum Admin how I feel about their ads. Sadly it seems that the marketing department is running their management these days.
When they bought AVG/Avast they also got Norman. So this can be missing N (link: https://www.norman.com/en-ww/homepage)
That's funny. I was actually wondering about that after I typed it because I was thinking they did buy Norman. Thanks for confirming. BANANA antivirus it is.
love it. banana av. sounds great. a: i use a six-engine av. b: oh yeah? what av is that? a: it's banana av. b: banana av? a: yep. bullgard-avira-norton-avast-norman-avg.
Norton already uses yellow color in their systray icon so they don't have to change a lot. They just have to draw banana instead of checkmark and they have new icon.
Wondering why when you go to the page that link points to that there is a gas range in the background picture. Did they just take this update out of the oven? Seriously, I don't get that it is related.
I'm waiting for the release of Norton Go, to see how it differs from other Norton products. This is the email which was sent to BullGuard customers a few weeks ago.
"Sadly it seems that the marketing department is running their management these days. " It means there is no legislation around software companies. They can do as they please.By taking over bull guard etc N will do the same thing and people won't have a choice. It should be anti competitive to do that
Sounds similar to the notice they gave to Atguard customers after they bought the firewall and subsequently screwed it all up.
It should never have been put into an AV, in my opinion, but... Attention :: An Important Norton Crypto Announcement
Crypto mining is dead, it is simple not lucrative anymore, imo it is the only reason that Norton is removing this "feature" that should not ever be present in a security solution.

Norton Security 22.22.9.11 for Windows is now available! ... Although this machine hasn't received it yet. It did get an engine update of around ~180 MB.
