May I suggest that a box colour scheme going from green to red, where red has the least protection would be more appropriate. I have changed mine to reflect this behaviour.

I'm not sure I'd like them changed (personal choice is available which you are already using)
Yellow is one of my favourite colours :)

Well the main problem really is that its not a unidimensional indicator,
we have primarily: Hardened, Default, Compartment
and secondly: Privacy Enchanced, or Normal
So a simple color gradient already won't cut it.

A second rational for the coloring was not to indicate the level of isolation but rather what can be expected inside.
So inside a Red/Orange box you might find the mostly malicious things you would dear to run.

While a Green/Cyan box would not be expected to be used to run anything that's expected to be problematic, as they are intended to be used only for compartmentalization of already trusted applications, or at least once that are not outright malicious.

Then the default box should be yellow, so no choice left there.

After I added this to Sandboxie.ini

    NormalFilePath=%Local AppData%\Microsoft\Edge\*

My blue Data Protection Box works perfectly :thumb:

(Thanks go to dev, I would never have figured this out by myself !)

Same here and that's the thing, you don't actually need to use any of the extra options as long as everything keeps working correctly. But I do find some of the new options interesting, it does show that DavidXanitos has a deep understanding of the innerworkings of Sandboxie, in my view.

I never had problems with launching Vivaldi, however I did stop using Sandboxie months ago when I somehow couldn't correctly update Vivaldi any more. And after that it somehow became corrupted. Of course Vivaldi was installed outside the sandbox and direct access to the profile folder was enabled. I had to do a complete Vivaldi reinstall to fix the problem. To clarify, this was with an old Sandboxie version, so I need to give it another try with Sandboxie Plus. However, it did put me off a bit.

The next build will get a search option for settings

But what might also be a good idea would be to hide some of the settings from the simple view, what do you think?
Any suggestions what could be hidden to declutter the config dialogs?

Have a switch for "Normal User" & "Expert User"?

Personally, I want to see all options even if I don't understand them all - in case I mess up totally, I keep backups of older sandboxie.ini files; probably should do the same for plus ini (toddles off to make a copy!).

Should we move BoxDisplayOrder back to the sandboxie.ini?

I don't really know enough about the impact this may have. You must have had a good reason for moving it in the first place.

    EDIT..
Perhaps @Mr.X may have an opinion on it.

The reason was that i did not want the box config to be reloaded each time such a minor ui setting gets chnaged.

Then don't move it back please, in my opinion.

OK. Icons in the normal tabs also look nice. The "debug" icon is a nice touch!

College degree be darned, it may be time to go back to school to follow the development of this app. Which may be fitting because, as I recall, David advised in not so many moons backwards that he is a scientist of sorts by the light of day. All continued respect and cheers to David for the brilliant evolution Sandboxie. Salud!

I remembered why I moved this to the plus ini, you see the normal ini has a line length limit of 2000 chars, so moving it to teh plus ini removed that limitation now you can order thousands of boxes muhahahahah....
