WVSX+SW, WVSX firewall bypasses SW rules, thats why I turn it off, I mean the WVSX firewall component

I assume SW's firewall is more to taste setting personal rules-I not experimented with SW so excuse my ignorance yet each user's config/system is different as we all know.

As to the SW rules override by WVSX firewall module perhaps @WiseVector can chime in to that end. :)

I am looking for a good companion av for Stopx... Im trying to decide between Checkmal and Ahnlab V3light . Checkmal would be much lighter for my old rig, but would like to know which (if any) would be more complementary.

I still have Defender as an option but if I go that route, my quicklaunch menus always hang without a 3rd party av installed (strange I know, but it happens every time).

Edit: Im also using Comodo FW with CS's rules.

Although you really need nothing else with the CF/WVSX combination, if you REALLY need to choose between Checkmal and Ahnlab, go with Checkmal.Trust me on that.

Thanks @WiseVector from the tippy top of my heart to the bottom. Switched over to a WVSX ONLY different PC after accepting your streaming update last night and this morning- Yes I been up all night long and am alert as a pigeon on a roof. Your program team is masterful and I certainly cannot thank you enough. I been getting rare type Alerts from your BIG SCREEN attention getter and I must say it boggles my mind the absolute technicality fashioned into such a super feather light program as this is. You and your team are to be highly congratulated and then some. Keep up the magnificent ambition.

I have never seen a security program as this which is as quiet/dormant as a solemn sunday prayer until some interruption makes a sneaky barefoot movement in which WVSX detects and captures the motion first then less than a blink of the eye alert the user to it. Your intelligent research and development team are a cut above the rest IMHO.

No malwares were introduced this time but lo and behold the program goes the extra mile quietly and stealthily with amazing sensitivity. When even a safe process goes into motion, and exhibits the slightest cause for a concern, WVSX rapidly displays it's finding.

I think its the same with zone alarm that bypasses other rules, it must be the driver that WVSX installs. Anyway sb has firewall , tries WVSX or zone alarm and all host internet is controlled by WSVX or zone alarm , doesn t hurt to mention

Seems it affects the working of Balena Etcher. :-(
Lots of failed USB writes if we minimize Balena Etcher during a USB write up.
I was wondering and just disabled WV and Etcher is working fine. It is on Win 11 with AMD CPU.

Also noticed that since I installed it, when I try to boot into advanced reboot it fails randomly, stucks on reboot screen.

The latest KFA now has Network Blocker and System Watcher previously only available in the paid product so it has powerful anti ransomware protection. Between that and WVSX, you're covered.

Its an HIPS firewall so it doesn't conflict with Windows Firewall/TinyWall. Its just a different form of filtering.

    I don't trust Wise vector.
It wouldn't install on my system with my anti-exploit features enabled. And I've seen a few tests of it on youtube that disappointed me.

I can't recall seeing any test where it's performed badly.

It certainly on this end is lightning snap swift to have reacted and stopped dead a lot of malware samples i locally unloaded on it. Even at it's current stage of development it's quite formidable and a very good compliment for windows security. Maybe more so on ransomware although it lays silent until even other forms of malware drop, igniting a stoppage in it's tracks too.

I'm curious what their paid version will offer over the free version. If I recall they said sometime next year it will have a paid version.

For this reason, I don't even think about using their products. Too much fake news around this project ;)

Well it's proven for quite some time now for some of us that it does more good than harm. Whatever that is and whatever it's perceived to be otherwise is just a user by user matter of opinion IMO.

I use Comodo Firewall (Cruel settings). If Comodo dumps it, which could be happening, I would not hesitate to replace it with Wisevector. It's solid protection.

Seems Comodo is already dead, sadly. No activity there since long. :(
