I am a long-time Kerish user. No problems whatsoever.
I can only recommend it (without any nonsensical argument).

As posted you will need to contact their support. I had an issue with the defragger in the new version and submitted a support request via their website. They were quick to reply and release an update which fixed the issue.

The issue I had was that it was incorrectly identifying one of my SSDs as a hard drive and as a result was defragging it. It would not have killed my SSD - contrary to popular belief, but there was no need for it do so. The update they released added the option to toggle between a drive being identified as a hard drive or SSD.

You should have emailed the MD as I suggested...much quicker and much more direct if looking to get functionality added. I got a response to my request very quickly...far more easily & quickly than going via support. Support are generally very good but re. bugs and the like rather than new feature request.

    For what it is worth.

    TWO SITUATIONS/QUESTIONS:

    S/Q-1
For the past several days I have been "unable" to get an update of KD. I put the word "unable" in quotes because I gave up trying. That is, in several connection attempts over the past several days, I waited as long as 25 minutes before giving up. Finally, today, after about 12 minutes, I got a connection to KD. It began downloading a 5.94MB update, then froze after downloading 3.5MB. After waiting 20 minutes for it to resume, I gave up.

Question- Am I the only one having this issue?

    S/Q-2
KD has a frequently updated "threat database." I believe it uses that database to scan for "malicious programs." I always do Maintenance>Diagnostics>Full Scan every 2-3 days, & have done so for the several years I have been using KD. The included scan for "malicious programs" has always given an "okay" result.

    Questions:
1- Has anyone ever had KD find a malicious program?
2- If so, was that malicious program also picked up by your other security apps, or not?

    1. Maybe once.
    2. I think it was a harmless PUP (Potentially Unwanted Program), rather than actual malware and it was not detected by my antivirus.

I just purchased the program. It is fairly involved, but nothing I can't handle. Just have to work through all the options, since I did not like the automatic cleaning.

Why didn't you want to use the automatic cleaning. I just let it run it the background and clean automatically. The only time I open it is in the rare case that I get a notification from it.

I find it very difficult to trust anything automatic with Windows (11) at this point. Years ago I trusted a registry cleaner and got burned. I only had the program for one day so need to get comfortable with it.

I certainly understand your hesitancy. One always wants to get comfortable with a software and run it through it's paces. I will say though that I have KD installed on multiple PC's and have had for at least the past 3 years or more. All are set to automatic. I've never had a single issue with KD causing a problem. In fact, it has kept multiple machines in tip-top shape. I will say that I always back up my PC's with either Macrium Reflect or Drive Snapshot but I've never had to resort to a backup image as a result of KD.

At least 99% of registry cleaners have issues with false positives, which means that they will sometimes want to delete needed registry keys. Deleting these keys can cause problems. However, the registry cleaner in Kerish Doctor is one of the very few which doesn't have issues with false positives. It is safe to use and should never delete anything it shouldn't, so it's fine to just let in run in the background and do its work.

Completely agree with roger_m & Alexhousek. I have used such utilities for a long time and whilst most are not half as bad as some say it is an area where one wants to be sure that what the app is doing is necessary & correct. And KD most certainly is that...has never caused me an issue and indeed has fixed a couple of issues that others were unable to fix...which is why I bought it.

I too understand your caution but what you can do is to configure the automatic run so that it only covers areas that you feel more comfortable in allowing an auto clean...and then eventually you can add in further elements as you gain confidence in its capabilities. Just a thought.

PS: Have been running Win11 for quite a while and can say that I have not seen a single glitch or conflict re. the two together.
