I am finding the right-click context menu on Windows 11 annoying. It is too dynamic. It seems that it loads first, and then populates and then sorts the items. I'm good with the final result but you have to wait for it to finish else it is a moving target to try and click an item.

No problem with the right click menu. I like the symbols at the top.

Top, bottom, whichever end is closer to the mouse pointer seems to be where they end up. The number of shell extensions you have and what you are clicking on probably comes into play with this.

out of the box - Windows 10 LTSC 2019 will be EOL 2029. Windows 11 LTSC will be supported from 2024 until 2029. LTSC 2022 last until 2027 (5 years support).

I haven't confirmed but did come across a post elsewhere that the IOT version of LTSC 2022 will be supported for 10-yrs (until 2032). Am currently using this on my desktop.

It looks like LTSC requires an Enterprise license? I haven't looked into it before right now. The company I work for may actually have a use for this for some devices we make, if it is practical and affordable to do so.

Yes, its Enterprise = VLK. Regular not available for normal home users. you dont only buy a license, you also buy support and some more as a bussines client. if some can grab one, be lucky!

LTS is same meaning as linux LTS - long term service (branch|channel).

microsoft also wants to get back to yearly update packages, not half year. i use(d) both on different machines, i know the difference. my pro is current, but ltsb was really behind, ltsc is 21H2 here and its close to pro. win11 is ahead. for older machines pro might run slow, so not ltsb/ltsc because not apps, no this or that. on newer machines you wont notice a difference. and if, i would buy a license for ntlite which is able to reduce pro to ltsc features. pro+ntlite is easy to pay, but enterprise means 5 licenses minimum which each are much more expensive than pro.

when win11 ltsc arrives, i would like to have a look at it.

Thanks for the info. Probably not cost effective for what we want to do with it.

Just installed cumulative update KB5015890 (Insiders beta channel) for a winver of 22622.440. Now, this is pretty good, I have to say. Not quite at the point of switching to 11 full time but it's getting there. Feels cleaner and more sprightly after the restart.

A definite improvement so far. Well keep an eye on it, who knows?

Edit: never had the Start Menu failure--one benefit of being in the Insiders channel.
