Has this product (which seems interesting in it's current form) been aggressively tested against malware samples on the fly as well as those known virtual machine types that weave a entry thru some others to the host system.

What would you consider it's weakest feature if there exists such at all.

    Thanks, EASTER

Hi EASTER, yes - independent penetration testing companies tested the product against a variety of "off-the-shelf" malware and none of them could escape the virtual machine barrier.

OK cool, you never know if it might become a huge succes, just look at what happened with Invincea, eventually they got acquired by Sophos. And I see that Bufferzone Security is also still active, I remember they started in the days of Sandboxie around 2004.

    Hi talhysolate,

Q1. Will an antiexploit tool like Hitmanpro Alert work with Hysolate?

Q2. Can I install another browser into Hysolate, like Firefox or LibreWolf ?

I don't see why it shouldn't work since it's a VM. But I might be wrong because Hysolate does restrict certain activities that may be abused by malware, so good question.

@talhysolate Does Hysolate have wraps around the RAM used by the browser? Can a rogue Javascript get out ?

@talhysolate, your product does not work with Yubikeys, can't use it to access gmail or any other Yubikey protected site.

Sorry for the delayed response - a rogue Javascript can't get out of the Hysolate VM unless it leverages some hypervisor escape vulnerability (very very rare).

Hi Strixv, sorry for the delayed response.
We just announced that Hysolate was acquired by Perception Point. We plan to continue the product and soon release the browser version of Hysolate (to improve the user experience).

Congrats with the takeover! I never heard of Perception Point, I guess they are a bigger company, what's their revenue and net income?

seems like they do no longer offer the hysolate workspace to the public. The approach to switch back and forth between a real desktop environment and a fully virtualized desktop is actually really nice and I haven't found any similar program out there. Instead you only get a virtualized chrome browser now at perception point. Sad that good programs get butchered only because the company got aquired.

Wow, this sucks indeed, too bad. I guess they are now mainly focused on corporate clients.
