    I tried it a couple of days ago. After logging in to my Firefox account so sync my bookmark and extensions, spend about an hour configuring all the extensions the way I want then logging in to all my favorite websites and forums. The next time I launched it, it seemed to have wiped the profile and just started all over from scratch! :mad::mad::mad: POS software! I used the portable version by the way in the hope of finding something slightly better and faster than Firefox but nope, it is not faster in any way when browsing/loading websites, only a bad buddy piece of junk.

    It's not bad software. It's you! I've been using Librewolf, with the sync function, for a while now and have had no issue whatsoever.

    sad to read that, Spartan.
    concerning sync - so it would be recommended to trial another sync account first.
    i think it has something to do with the used default switches, i never had that with firefox, and i sync across several devices and OS (windows, Android)

    what i learned at last - sync settings are account fixed. if you change on one firefox the options what to sync the other firefox get that option too when connected.

    oh no the sync functions works, the problem is with the portable version of LibreWolf, when I start it again, it starts fresh on a clean profile as if it's the first time. Tried setting it up a few times and it keeps doing the same thing. I see no incentive of using it over Firefox Portable.

    the portable has issues? cant imagine because it should work as firefox portable?

    strange first page loading
    Code:
    https://0.0.0.102/librewolf-102.0.1-1.en-US.win64-portable/librewolf-102.0.1/Firefox/Firefox.exe
    for the data loss. running LW as "firefox.exe" with my starter* and a brand new empty profile, using sync, did not end in data loss. passwords and bookmarks are ok (i do not sync other stuff).

    either its the LW starter which i cannot examine yet, or something other defective.

    starter is like this
    Code:
    cd "Firefox"
    firefox.exe -profile "..\Profile"
    its a batch file one tree above \Firefox and \Profile

    for LW it should be
    Code:
    cd "LibreWolf"
    LibreWolf.exe -profile "..\Profiles\Default"
    ok, its "Visual Studio v12", source is on github. ok, the starter is proper
    Code:
      wcscpy_s(dir, path);
      wcscat_s(dir, L"\\Profiles\\Default");

      wcscpy_s(exe, path);
      wcscat_s(exe, L"\\librewolf.exe");
      if (!fileExists(exe)) {
        wcscpy_s(exe, path);
        wcscat_s(exe, L"\\LibreWolf\\librewolf.exe");
        if (!fileExists(exe)) {
          MessageBox(NULL, L"Can\'t find librewolf.exe in the current or LibreWolf folder.", path, MB_OK);
          return 1;
        }
      }

      wsprintf(cmdline, L"\"%s\" -profile \"%s\" %s", exe, dir, lpCmdLine);
    call is same but in VS.

    so at least in can be only an issue on your side.

    There is not. This is the closest thing you can get. Winget will also auto-update.

    It just notifies you that there is an update, but doesn't auto-update.

    Apparently, Winupdater has changed a lot since I used it. It now does auto-update! I was wrong.

    I don't know if LibreWolf WinUpdater works with the installed version. As I said I use it for the portable version and it auto-updates the browser flawlessly, settings are not lost or extensions.
