Here is another question for Privazer.

When I close EDGE and clean my Internet traces/history/cookies with Privazer, Wise Care tells me that EDGE is still running.
"Do you want to close it?"

Why does Wise Care (or Kerish Doctor) is telling me that EDGE is running if I
a.) closed it,
and
b.) cleaned my Internet traces with Privazer?

It's because it is not really close.
Edge has a new option called startup boost that makes it start automatically in the background.
It's under system in the edge parameters.
So just deactivate it.

We will inform users in PrivaZer if Edge is open because PrivaZer can not clean it fully if it is open.

That's maybe why @Gandalf_The_Grey had some leftovers in Edge.

Startup boost and background apps are disabled.
Still after cleaning with PrivaZer and a reboot CCleaner finds and cleans Session (6 files) and Bookmarks Backup (1 file).
Maybe those files are recreated after cleaning and are harmless for privacy?

The message that Edge is running will be added in the next release.

we could not really reproduce the issue with the session files for Edge.
Make sure msedge.exe is not running before cleaning Edge with PrivaZer.
It may happen if startup boost is ticked (already discussed) but also if the second option here is ticked :


Concerning the files under the folder "Extension State" as seen on your screenshot, it is not recommended to delete them as some extensions need them to work properly.
Thus, we will add a new option (unticked by default) for users who would like to clean it.

I've tried on three Win11 computers but the current version of Privazer cannot remove those diagtracks.
Maybe, I'm doing something wrong, but after I clean my Internet activity with Privazer, Reg Organizer still finds the same (huge) amount of those Internet tracks.

here is what we have after a cleanup with PrivaZer on a win11 system :



As you can see the directory is empty. No .etl files remaining.

Can you check this directory JUST AFTER a PrivaZer cleanup ?
Do no run another software in the mean time.

Hello @Gandalf_The_Grey,
now Edge is automatically closed by PrivaZer if Edge is still running in the background.
That's the case when you think you closed it but the option "startup boost" in Edge is activated (as already explained).

 

I've updated Privazer to .48, but the Internet Information Logs are still there.
Please, show me on any of Privazer cleaning log sheets where I could find that cleaned directory of
Windows\System32\LogFiles\WMI?

PrivaZer cleans etl files and also etl.001 up to etl.004 files.
We hadn't seen etl.005 files yet but it seems that you have one on your PC as shown on the image you posted.
So we will add them and next ones like etl. 006, etl.007 etc. So that you will have nothing left.
We will have a new update then

 

Thank you for your fantastic work @The_PrivaZer_Team ! For such a good program, I don't mind paying at all.
The only other cleaning/privacy program I use is R-wipe & Clean.

I just wanted to say that "diagtrack-listener.etl.006" stays present on my laptop. Whenever I use R-wipe it seems to be gone..

Anyways, keep up the good work!
