The last versions of both Plus and Classic experience severe issues with Adguard and/or Ublock origin on my system. Hardly works.
Former version of classic worked, so i run that one instead.

Well, i have the latest of everything, Os, Edge, Ublock origin, you name it.
Now even the former version malfunctions.

Got to try yet an older version, because the former or the one before that was working ok before i updated.

 

Maybe, your Edge Settings changed with Edge update?

 

Edge without sandboxie works fine. With sandboxie, no.
The problem is varying wildly over different sites. Comes and goes. Very peculiar.

The Ublock rules/blockings i have for different sites is not implemented when using sandboxie, and trying to do them all over again for thoose sites, do not work. The "accept banner" here on Wilders do not show in edge, as is. With s-boxie, it does, and i have to do it all over and over and... . Ublock is hardly working at all.

 

Tried with Slimjet, worked fine.
What settings in Edge can cause this behaviour?


SOLVED. Inactivated the resource saving for tabs and, voila.

Could you please set them to ON and see if you see ads on sites you usually dont, if that is so, the issue is confirmed. Then i will tell Xanatos about it.

 

You mean as test: set "them" on? which switch/s?
I have lots of Edge switches off. What am I testing?

After the last update of Microsoft Edge, Sandboxie 5.55.22 and Sandboxie 5.56.3 does not work for Edge sandboxed. With firefox (my default browser) there is no issue.

I apologise! Only Sandboxie 5.55.22 does not work. I installed 5.56.3 and now is well!

Sandboxie Classic x64 Upgrade from v5.55.20 to v5.56.3 -- New problem with MS Outlook:

I just did this update, and although Outlook (2019 MSO, Version 2205 Build 16.0.15225.20278, Office Click-to-Run) still loads fine and appears to run, after a couple of mouse clicks it locks up completely. I'm running under Windows 10 (21H1). Anybody else seen this behavior?

Other changes happened on my system before updating to 56.3, but reverting to 55.20 solves the problem.

I did not try other Office components before reverting, so I don't know if this issue applies to all. I don't have a lot of time to troubleshoot right now, but if DavidXanatos has any idea when the problem might have been introduced, I'm happy to try the latest version he thinks should work and maybe the first one he thinks would fail this test... -- jclarkw

 

Since a few versions, this message appears every now and then and then no more data traffic is possible with Firefox (x64):



So that I do not lose all tabs, I must then resort to the trick and set in its sandbox that its contents are never deleted and then call "about:restartrequired" in Firefox.

With many open tabs, it then closes all of them, but the startup then does not work. According to the task manager, a single Firefox process is still open, which is probably part of the restart attempt. If I try to start Firefox manually, this happens of course:



Clicking on "quit" of course only ends the manual start attempt. So I have to end the remaining Firefox process in the task manager first and only then start Firefox manually. Then all tabs are there again (if necessary via the burger menu and then "history"). Then "only" the evil remains, to have to log in everywhere again and to set the corresponding permissions in addons before.

What surprised me today, however, was the fact that the Firefox.exe-Sbiedll.dll problem appeared immediately when I clicked on something on the DHL website in another browser (Brave), which was running in another sandbox! The above screenshot is from that and it explicitly says "firefox.exe" and also only with Firefox no more traffic was possible then. The Brave continued to work normally.

Yesterday I was not at the computer for 1 hour when it happened. However, I heard the error tone during this time. After waking up the graphics card and the monitor and unlocking the workstation, however, there was no message window. However, data traffic was no longer possible in any tab of Firefox, not even with new tabs/windows in the same sandbox. This is really more than annoying.

The timing of the click in Brave brower must have been coincidence. I have no idea what Firefox was doing in the background that caused this to happen. I already put the Sandboxie installation path in the Internet Security exceptions, but that didn't help. Firefox's update search doesn't seem to be it either. I'm now back to 5.55.20 and hope it doesn't occur there.

Edit 2:
With 5.55.20 it is unfortunately much worse: The Vivaldi browser got stuck at startup and did not build its interface fully at all. Its Sandbox then could not be cleared because Vivaldi's two processes could not be terminated, not even via the task manager. There was then even no traffic possible at all, no matter in which sandbox and with which browser. I am now back to 5.55.18.

Edit 3:
With 5.55.18, none of the problems described in this post occur anymore.

 

Whenever i download something to my download folder i get, besides the actual file, another file saying something like this in english=unconfirmed download (but in swedish). So if i download 3 items i get 6 in the folder.

Can this be stopped?

and let me know if this resolved you rissue?

If so we need to know what security software you are using and what symlink path it needs to be open

 

I also suspected that Eset could be the cause. For some versions Eset Internet Security is no longer recognized by the software compatibility. I did add the template "Eset NOD32" to the INI manually, but that didn't help.

Currently I can not close the browser and therefore can not upgrade again, but I will test your suggestion when I no longer need any of the tabs.

 

Today it occurred for the first time also with 5.55.18, so now I added
FuncSkipHook=NtOpenSymbolicLinkObject
to GlobalSettings
and upgraded back to 5.56.3.

I will definitely get back to you and report if it occurs again with this or not. I will test it for at least 2 weeks.

 

Its strange that it happens with v5.56.3 as this has only introduced a new delete mechanism which is disabled by default, so by default it should not break anything.
Can you test the versiouse builds available and point me to which build introduced the issue than I can look into fixing this.
