    Hi @novirusthanks

    thank you for the latest release. I've encountered an issue:

    From the Configurator-> Protection Options->Export Protections to File, I get the following when I try to export to any directory:

    OSA export error.png

    Edit

    Running Windows 10 Pro, 21H2

    Running OSA 1.7.2 test 4, I encountered same issue as @wat0114 on my Win7 laptop.

    @novirusthanks Request you add THIS Wilders link to your signature.

    QUESTION: Do the default rules, when OSA is first installed, include X's in ALL black-text boxes and exclude X's in ALL red-text boxes?

    Let me know if you find issues or FPs.

    @wat0114 @bellgamin

    Please let me know if the issue with Configurator-> Protection Options->Export Protections to File is fixed now.

    @bellgamin

    Added the link to Appsvoid Wilders thread on the signature, good idea.

    No, Basic Protection profile checks some of the black-text boxes (and the blocking of LOLBins - orange-text box) that we believe are good for a basic (but good) protection for common PC users, trying to balance false positives and blocking of threats.

    //Everyone

    We are discussing about enabling the following protection options in the Extreme Protection profile:

    @novirusthanks , I just noticed that NVTLicenseManager_setup.exe ver. 1.5.3.0 is sitting in my %LocalAppData%\Temp directory. Is it OK to delete it? Or, should it run it first prior to deletion?

    Here is a pre-release test 6 version of OSArmor PERSONAL v1.7.2:

    Code:
    https://downloads.osarmor.com/osarmor-personal-1.7.2-setup-test6.exe

    Here is what changed:

    Let me know if you find issues or FPs.

    @wat0114 @Antarctica

    Great, thanks for confirming :)

    @itman

    If you open OSArmor GUI -> Help -> License Status it will open NVT Activator GUI

    Does it show v1.5.3.0 in the window title?

    If yes, then it was auto-upgraded successfully and you can delete the setup file from the Temp directory.

    Please let me know.

    Hi @novirusthanks

    I've installed this and get a similar problem to what I reported in post #4226:

    From Configurator-> Protection Options-> Select Protections Profile...

    choosing any of the Protection profiles results in:

    OSA import error.png

    At first I got the "Operation completed successfully" but then got the above Access Violation also, selecting any profile--doesn't matter. So I confirm the observation of wat0114.

    Also: a little question: how come the UAC dialog box comes to the desktop if you click "Open Configurator" from the main UI but only makes to the taskbar if you click that option via the right click menu on the tray icon? Anyone else notice that? Just a little thing but thought I would mention off-hand.

    Here is a pre-release test 7 version of OSArmor PERSONAL v1.7.2:

    Code:
    https://downloads.osarmor.com/osarmor-personal-1.7.2-setup-test7.exe

    + Enabled more protection options on Extreme Protection profile
    + Fixed AV issue when selecting protection profiles on Configurator GUI

    Let me know if you find issues or FPs.

    @plat1098 @wat0114

    The AV issue when selecting protection profile should be fixed now.

    Will take a look at that, thanks for reporting it.

    OK, yes, selecting any/all profiles from the Profiles menu like four-five times--no access violation message. I love this new menu in the Configurator, it's so convenient.

    Only thing: if I'm importing (didn't try exporting yet) my backup OSA file, there's no little system sound and/or message confirming that it was imported and the settings applied. They're set, I mean: I checked that that some of my custom settings were applied but there's no confirmation from the system. Just an observation. Edit: same deal for Export--no sound or message confirming that it took place but the .ini is safely in my folder regardless.

    Thanks for looking at that little UAC discrepancy. Hopefully it was clear from my post what I was talking about.

    Spot on observation from @plat1098. If importing a saved configuration from the top menu bar, OSA confirms with the following pop-up alert:

    Import-alert.png

    ...but there is no such confirmation when importing from:

    Protection Options-> Import Protections from File-> then choosing the file will import it, but there is no alert as above or even any sound whatsoever.

    We've released OSArmor v1.7.2:
    https://www.osarmor.com/download/

    Here is the changelog:

    If you find false positives or issues please let me know.

    Users that are using previous test builds of 1.7.2 should manually update to this new final version (download setup file and install-over-the-top).

    Thanks, exited UI and installed release 1.7.2. The UAC-to-taskbar issue is still there: when clicking Open Configurator from the right-click menu of the tray icon.

    osauac.png

    Come to think of it, this little issue has been around for quite some time. Don't know if it's important, really, but thought I would mention again. The UAC box comes to the desktop when you open the Configurator from the main UI that's already on the desktop.

    @plat1098

    Yes, I have reproduced that issue, it looks like it behaves like that because the main application UI is "hidden", if you open OSA UI and click on "Open Configurator" then the UAC-box will display (because OSA UI is visible), else as you noticed the UAC-box is not displayed and only the UAC-icon is visible in the taskbar. I wrote about this in the todo list and will take a look at it on these days, I wanted to first release this new OSA version due to new and updated internal rules.

    Will keep you updated in the next days.

    Oh of course, the rules take priority over everything. :)

    Since it's via a hidden icon, it makes sense to only get as far as the taskbar. Thanks for explaining. :thumb:

    UAC from the right-click menu works perfectly now. :thumb: In fact, all the features in the right-click menu work fine.

    Thanks a lot for this build!
