Google is noticeably not-so-high, wot? The fact that most of those security apps have very high effectiveness is, IMO, at least partly because tests ARE being done. Hence, there is a competitive advantage to achieving high marks. That fact spurs developers of security apps to keep striving to excel. Conversely, those security apps that elect NOT to participate in tests are, IMO, at a competitive disadvantage -- at least with me. It is very rare for me to buy or recommend any security app that consistently fails to participate in applicable*** tests. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ***NOTE: I emphasize applicable tests because some security apps use methods of protection where conventional testing methods would give bolloxed results. Webroot SA is a probable example.
