Why is it so important to you to update APEX frequently? APEX is based on AI and therefore only needs a few updates. I have now reinstalled CatchPulse and only installed the basic component and APEX. The program is actually faster to use now.
CatchPulse is now apparently being offered at a 50% discount. I only paid 13.49 euros for the one-year license.
Voodoo has its own whitelist-allowing and Machine Learning AI that's all cloud based. Using catchpulse with only Apex and the core along side the paid version of voodoo makes for a great combo.
Imo the best white list will be always HIPS technology later anti-exe and the end of end behavior who partial trust more automated on on already know virus and other allow bc are not on black list. So that why HIPS solution is best and behaviors are the worst.
Honestly, with the latest updates to SecureAPlus/Catchpulse, how slow their cloud server usually is, the fact that the command line protection on Catchpulse and SecureAplus is basically not even there. I can't advocate for anything from SecureAge anymore. Especially since from my own testing, their claim of 100% detection is objectively false. The recommended option on lots of very well known malware was to allow it. I'll still fiddle with it from time to time, but I'm not going to use it as part of my protection setup anymore
Yea BUT SAP never been hips its just hash white list.. Old SAP+ was realy great but well they try do something like some toxic companies do with products - few detail product as marketing purpose - look how cool its this product... and when got pass good reputation they decrise quality to minimum and start product on mass scale... That how i see SecureAplus Is exacly same story as Zemana Anti-malware/Logger begin/start awesome but since longer exist till worst and worst from time to time. Also like all Emsisoft - this company is a fake.. they bought all good product and with time they kiled all best solution on marked because they workers are to dumb for continue other jobs.. Online Armor RIP by Emsisoft https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Online_Armor_Personal_Firewall Im also have mixed mind-things about this what they did with this SAP ;/
CatchPulse has become very opaque. You can no longer see which AV programs are used in the Universal AV. In addition, it is no longer displayed how many files have been uploaded.
I just can't advocate for it the way I used to. You can look up my old posts. After what I've experienced with CatchPulse, I don't think I'm ever going to use it again.
The "catchpulse" folks took a proven security app, gave it a name like a medical gadget, then tweaked it until it was back in early beta stage. I predict it will go the way of Zemana Anti-malware and the Titanic. Sad, very sad -- & I would LOVE to be wrong.
catchpulse without the anti-virus, without the cloud AV and without the vulnerability scanner is pretty good.
True. Even without that stuff, CatchPulse is a pretty good, multi-faceted, default-deny/fingerprinter-anti-exe/whitelister/script limiter/vulnerable-files-watcher. It's unnecessary for Catchpulse to offer antivirus scanners because uploading files to VirusTotal is easy to do on one's own. And I find a vulnerability scanner to be more of a nuisance/paranoia-feeder tool. YMMV
A middle ground would be to only install APEX along with the "catchpulse core" APEX actually conflicts with MS Defender. When APEX and MSD detect the same threat, APEX will quarantine the threat instantly and MSD will sit there trying to remove a threat that doesn't exist anymore. Then MSD will think that the threat is still active somehow.
Well Catchpulse is supposed to not conflict with a other solutions. The only one it doesn't conflict with is malwarebytes.
I can't seem to clear the allowed command lines. When I check all of them off and click "delete" they just pop right back up the next time I open the UI
Hey! a New version of catchpulse came out today! They fixed the bug with the allowed command lines. I don't know if they fixed the issue with the vulnerability scanner going into a loop of scans and errors
Got an email from Sharewareonsale that Catchpulse is able to be downloaded with a 1-year promo key, so I installed that today.
I don't think so. The "pro" version isn't very expensive. And in recent months they've done a lot of sales.
