No...it does not work with Run Sandboxed -> DefaultBox (default settings) Edge shortcut.
I see my home page "google.com" called and then the overlay Welcome to Microsoft Edge page fills the screen.

Here is my very poor attempt to show what happens, you can ignore the file migration I think as it was the gif program

No it is just to show what happens when the home page flashes and the Welcome to Edge takes over.
When I download and install the 99 build it turns into the 1.2 build o_O

    @DavidXanatos , @stapp
Disable -> Enable Microsoft Edge fix for Windows 11 KB5014019
    sorts my 1.1.1.2

Run Sandboxed -> DefaultBox (default settings) -> Edge desktop shortcut works...for me with 1.1.1.2 (each time with an empty sbox)

Maybe, Disable -> Enable Microsoft Edge fix for Windows 11 KB5014019 was needed with 1.1.1. IDK

    as test: from 1.0.22
    1) over-install 1.1.1
    2) Disable -> Enable Microsoft Edge fix for Windows 11 KB5014019
    3) create new TEST (Default) sbox
    4) add UseFileDeleteV2=y & UseRegDeleteV2=y to TEST (Default) sbox
    5) add UseFileDeleteV2=y & UseRegDeleteV2=y to my Edge forced sbox
    -
    A) Run Sandboxed -> TEST (Default) sbox -> Edge desktop shortcut works...for me with 1.1.1 (each time with an empty sbox)
    B) My Edge forced sbox works...for me with 1.1.1
    -
    6) Restart machine
    7) A & B with 1.1.1 okay...for me
    W10 Home 21H2 (19044.1706)
as always, your mileage may vary
    -
Edit: I meant that I disabled the enabled "Edge fix for Windows 11". #89

I have installed 1.1.2 over the top.
I have disabled and the re-enabled the Win 11 Edge Fix.
    I have added UseFileDeleteV2=y & UseRegDeleteV2=y to both boxes.

Edge still won't run for me.

I have clean installed the last few builds in the last 2 days. I have over the top installed them too. I have added and changed settings and dll's when requested by David to to so.

Edge is NOT my default browser, Vivaldi is.
To run Edge Sbied I just right-click on desktop icon and select 'run sandboxed'
I have NO forced boxes at all in my sbie setup.
All I do after install is just create new box and call it Tester.
I use the Sandboxed web browser desktop icon to run my default box. Tester box is for everything else including Edge.

    Win 10 Pro 21H2 build 19044.1741

I have no idea where to go from here.
1.1.0 build is the last build where Edge worked for me Sandboxed.

Have just read where I left off last evening. Didn't try anything prior to 1.1.2 as I have even less time tonight, and can see previous suggestions have not worked for others.

So I installed 1.1.2 over the top of 1.0.22 & this build produces exactly the same behaviour as 1.1.1 - treating Edge like a first ever run with that big banner that pops up that asking to confirm whether you want to sync settings across browsers & next wanting you to pick a theme etc. You can't close the banner, you have to action it. This happens on every sandboxed launch of Edge (but not unsandboxed launches), regardless of how many times you run through the wizard on the banner. I tried both confirming & denying the option sync settings (I don't usually enable this - it's disabled in my Edge settings already), but this makes no difference. Furthermore, sync is broken when you do enable it. Perhaps the credential fix you mentioned in 1.1.1 is at fault for all of this behaviour?? I also tried uninstalling & then doing a clean installation of 1.1.2 - same result.

I tried UseFileDeleteV2=y & UseRegDeleteV2=y to my default sandbox as suggested above somewhere, but it made no difference with or without. Restarting the machine makes no difference.

Interestingly I was not offered the windows 11 compatibility thing in the wizard on the 1.1.2 installation, but strangely Edge didn't seem to need it (i.e. launching Edge did not produce the white box like on 1.0.22 or 1.1.1 without the fix enabled). I couldn't see the fix built in, so I'm not sure why Edge actually even managed to load to more than a white box? I did check to see if PreferExternalManifest=msedge.exe,y was anywhere, but if it was I didn't see it.

The only things I change in Sandboxie from the out of the box settings is to tick nested jobs & enable autodelete in the sandbox options, and tick use WFP in the global settings. These settings seem to make no difference though, I have tried unticking nested jobs & WFP.

So have uninstalled 1.1.2 & clean reinstalled 1.0.22 with a new ini & re-added the PreferExternalManifest=msedge.exe,y to my default sandbox, as 1.0.22 needs this fix to make Edge load on Win 11. It's working perfectly with that.

FYI I'm running Win 11 Pro 21H2 22000.708 & Edge is my default browser. I launch Edge via the desktop shortcut created on SB+ installation, but have also tried launching it from right clicking a test sandbox (duplicated from the default) & choosing Run Programme msedge.exe. This way makes no difference either. For now I'll just stay on 1.0.22.

I will be offline now but will try & catch up with new developments & give any other suggestions a go in the coming days. Thanks for the effort you're putting into solving this!

No need to apologise David - it's not your fault!

I will try those things when time enables (which isn't now, sorry!)

This problem with the annoying first run banner that stapp and I get on 1.1.1 & subsequent test builds is a completely separate issue to the blank window - your PreferExternalManifest=msedge.exe,y fix sorts the blank window out for me but not the banner thing.

Can’t test .98, .99 and 1.1.2 for now because of my AV. It keeps interfering during install (despite allowing it).

@deugniet when you load Edge are you getting a blank/white window or are you getting the annoying first runner banner that stapp & I are getting on 1.1.1 and above? Because if it is just the white banner - try adding PreferExternalManifest=msedge.exe,y to your default sandbox ini (or whichever sandbox is the relevant one). I've had to add that to my Windows 10 machines as well since the last Edge update, or they too open with a blank box. (Before the Edge update it was only my Win 11 machine that was doing that due to a particular Windows 11 update - the above fix works for both, however it will not work with the banner thing if that is your actual issue).

    @catspyjamas

A white screen while trying to run Edge sandboxed with hardware acceleration ON (Sandboxie Plus 1.1.1/Win 10 x64/). Turning hardware acceleration OFF no problems.
