Ok will give it a go. Was hoping to get to this this evening but things have gone pear shaped here. In the middle of trying to get the dinner on I got head butted by the nine year old by accident - he has an egg on the head and my tooth has gone through my bottom lip and the darn thing won't stop bleeding. Dinner is burnt offerings I'm afraid. Sandboxie will have to wait until tomorrow!

One more thing to add, if you have issues with access denided when trying to paste the DLL's into the installation folder, run "KmdUtil scandll" and allow it to terminate whatever is using the sbiedll.dll
after that you should be able to overwrite those dll's

    > Does Enable Windows Filtering Platform (WFP) Support do anything without user set IP/Port based rules?
Yes if you set "block interhet access" for a given process and have WFP enabled you can select for that box which method you want to use to block the internet access, blocking network devices, or using WFP.

    > Does Enable Windows Filtering Platform (WFP) Support do anything...since, I run Norton Firewall?
Yes in fact in modern windows as far as I know every firewall needs to use WFP,
the way this works is that each driver installs its own callout functions at the positions int he network stack it wants to controll and all those fucntions are then called by teh kernel for all the drivers, so you end up with an amalgamation of all the rules set by the variouse firewalls you may have running.

David where do I run KmdUtil scandll from?

Sorry if it seems a easy thing to you but it may not be to the rest of us.

Just give instructions for things like this as if you were talking to a 5 year old then more people will try it :)

there is a KmdUtil.exe located in the instalation directory of sandboxie

to run KmdUtil.exe with an argument open a command prompt (cmd.exe) by pressing Winkey+R and typing cmd.exe
than navigating to the instalation direcotry by typing CD followed by the full path of the directroy, enclosed in "" if it contains a space or more
once in the sandboxie directory you can enter KmdUtil scandll

Alternatively you can use sandman.exe, in the maintenance menu the "Stop All" will run KmdUtil scandll for you and then terminate the service and unload teh driver

Right, I have been discussing via PM with @bjm_ why his Edge works, and mine doesn't in 1.1.1

Because I don't often run Edge sandboxed when I do I just right-click the Edge desktop icon and select 'run sandboxed'

He doesn't, his Edge is forced :)
He can reproduce my Edge problem when he uses my way of running Edge sandboxed.

By the way @DavidXanatos 1.1.0 build does not have the Edge problem for me with the sbie.dll that is inside that 1.1.0 build..

Checked again: with hardware acceleration OFF latest Edge works with Sandboxie Plus 1.1.1 and with hardware acceleration ON a white screen.

So to clarify using build 1.1.1,
with the dll I posted still has issues,
with the dll from 1.1.0 the issues are gone?

    Yes.
That is with me running Edge sandboxed via desktop icon and selecting 'run sandboxed.
By the way when I installed 1.1.0 over the top of 1.1.1
I got this. I selected yes. Was I supposed to?

Installed 1.1.1 over the top of 1.1.0.
AllowBoxedJobs=n under global settings of .ini file.
Still does not open Edge Sandboxed using context menu option.

(Hopefully you didn't mean with the dreaded new sbie.dll as well)

I installed the dll's from zip file. Both entries show up correctly in Plus Program Files.
    Edge still doesn't work sandboxed.
I even tried it with the AllowBoxedJobs=n as well as the new dll's.

Still using the context menu on Edge desktop icon to select run sandboxed.

@stapp : I noticed that the 1.1.1c zip file also contains sbiesvc.exe in the \32 subfolder.
I wonder if David wanted you to also copy that file to the \32 subfolder (unless you did already)?

SbieDll 1.1.1c zip with Run Sandboxed -> DefaultBox (default settings) Edge shortcut does not work.
    png_15075.png
SbieDll 1.1.1c zip with my Edge forced sbox works.
    png_15076.png
SbieDll 1.1.1c zip feels the same as SbieDll 1.1.1b zip

    I paste SbieSrv.exe, too.

What is so different about running Edge sandboxed via a context menu instead of Forced that makes it fail?

it is set up differently, you can have the right click behavior on forcing by enabling "ForceRestart=msedge.exe" but unfortunately you cant make it the other way around that easily.

so 1.1.1.2 is not working for you?

I see my home page "google.com" called and then Welcome to Microsoft Edge overlay fills the screen.
