I am trying to build a new usb rescue media using a Mini Corsair usb on my DELL laptop.
I got the following Windows : "The target disk is GPT partitioned. Please a different usb or initialized the disk MRB". The log I got is:

" Open handle to physical drive: \\.\PHYSICALDRIVE1
    Read drive geometry
Check for active FAT32 partition in removable media
Target USB disk uses GPT scheme, cannot use this disk
    Check track zero writeable
Track zero is writeable for selected disk
Calculate space required for PE files
PE File Count: 241 requiring 876.0 MB disk space
Determine target volume for WinPE files
Target USB disk uses GPT scheme, cannot use this disk
Not a supported disk type "

on Disk Management the usb drive appears as "Unallocated"

Is it possible to install the rescue media on this usb?

    samy,

Try this. Open an Admin Command prompt
    diskpart
    list disk
    select disk x
(x being the number of the UFD)
    list disk
(make sure an * is to the left of disk x)
    clean
    exit

    Open Disk Management
    Right click the USB disk
    click New Simple Volume
run through the windows and make a FAT32 partition

If Disk Management reports a RAW partition..
    Right click the partition
    click Format
    choose FAT32

It should now be OK to use.

    I done above instructions.
Under Disk Management the USB disk is showing now: Healthy Basic data partition FAT 32
but when creating the Macrium rescue program on this disc it shows:
Unsupported disk. GPT format is not supported

I create the rescue .iso and then use the Rufus utility to burn the .iso to the usb drive as a bootable device. it does the hard work.

    samy,

    That's disappointing. Try this...

    Open an Admin Command prompt
    diskpart
    list disk
    select disk x
(x being the number of the UFD)
    list disk
There is a Gpt column on the right. Is there a * in the line for the UFD?
    exit

    Open Disk Management
    Right click the USB disk
    click Properties
    Volumes tab
What is the Partition style? Is it Master Boot Record (MBR) or GUID Partition Table (GPT)?

    1. I made since then some additional attempts with this USB disk, I don't remember what was previously marked in the GPT (diskpart) column
    2. I tried to install RUFUS with no success either.
    3. I installed VENTOY with partition style: GPT and I just made a preliminary check on my desk PC (Asus UEFI "very friendly usage") it seems to work . I will check it also on my DELL laptop (UEFI "a clumsy one with its Secure Boot")
    4. Actually the GPT (diskpart) column is empty, so are also the listed data in the Volumes tab , they all have a - (dash) only

    samy,

Can you check Disk Management again for the UFD and for your main drive, containing the OS? The Volumes tab. What's in "Partition style" for the UFD and for the main drive? Better still, can you post screenshots?
Can you post a screenshot of Diskpart too as you shouldn't have an empty GPT column if you have a UEFI system.

    Thanks samy,

It's a weird UFD. It's not a GPT Disk but it does have an EFI system partition. Do you have another UFD you can use?
If it was my UFD I'd delete both partitions and create a FAT32 single partition. That should work.

I mounted Ventoy on an other UFD, cleaned the subject one using diskpart and formated it to FAT32 using New Simple Volume. I could create a Macrium rescue UFD.
as you mentioned above: It worked
    Regards
