Are you all running MB in real time or standalone? Curious how it is running with WD? Cheers.

IMO Malwarebytes is too heavy to run alongside Microsoft Defender, by default MB will register at Windows Security Center disabling Microsoft's antivirus in the process, but you can change Malwarebytes behavior to allow this "combo".

I think most users here dont trust or dont like MB in real time and just use it as a second opinion scanner, but I like its real time protection, just too heavy on system performance for my taste.

I run it real time on two computers, alongside ESET NOD32. I also use it to scan downloads prior to opening (in addition to ESET and HMP). Malwarebytes will definitely slow down my old machines if I allow it to launch at start up, and I also limit the number of active protections on one machine. I also set the program to warn me rather than to quarantine, ever since it screwed up many years ago and quarantined a system file. Been an off and on user since 2008. :)

Thanks for the confirmation. The last time I ran it alongside each other I felt the same way. Guess things have not changed, thanks.

@Page42 Thanks for the info. Think I will steer clear of it. Cheers!

    Malwarebytes Anti-Malware - v 2.2.1.1043

As I have an old computer I am still using this old version - and it still used to update the Database Version - until today when I noticed it had V 2022.05.19.08.and all attempts to update to todays date ( 23 here in Australia ) have said no new version is available

If anyone else is running this old version are they able to update the Database o_O??

From MB's official product lifecycle policy , v2 version should end at 08-Jun-2017† ,
    https://support.malwarebytes.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038521734

v3 version should end at 04-May-2020
    https://support.malwarebytes.com/hc/en-us/articles/6003466611475

If your v2 version do not receive any database update , I guess it's because the new database wasn't compatible with old version ?
maybe you can try to contact their customer support to confirm ,
but I think they will suggest you to upgrade your MB to version 4 .

    Hello @KevinYu0504:

I have requested an escalation to the very knowledgeable Malwarebytes forum manager first. Let's see what happens. Please monitor your topic there.

    Thank you.

Do you see some advantage to combining the programs? It's not obvious what the benefit would be as they are easy to manage separately and don't get in each others way.
