A question about Microsoft Edge cleaning:

When I compare PrivaZer with CCleaner it seems that PrivaZer is not cleaning session:
    C:\Users\Gandalf\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\Default\Session Storage\
    C:\Users\Gandalf\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\Default\Extension State\
    C:\Users\Gandalf\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\Default\Sessions\

It that for a reason or something to add to PrivaZer?

I hope this is just a display issue....The right mouse click 'delete without a trace' of files etc displays information and states that MFT entries will be cleaned. When the program is run the list of actions undertaken does not display anything regarding MFT. Question thus arrises, are you doing it? Could you please enhance the action list to show that nn MFT were deleted?

    Hello guys,

    sorry for the late reply.

    @takiabtom,
it is just a display omission. The MFT / FAT entries are always cleaned when securely deleting a file with PrivaZer.
We will add a mention of that as suggested.

    @Gandalf_The_Grey,
Normally the session data are removed if the option is selected in PrivaZer.
Check your option here for Edge based on Chromium :

or here for Edge (legacy) :

what has changed in v44 that makes it necessary to confirm User Account Control every time Privazer is run? Was not the case before.

    Subject line: PrivaZer-Erase-Dialog = KB-div-1000 = not MB

    Hello,

    Bytes / 1024 = KB / 1000 = KBdiv1000 = not MB.
    Bytes / 1024 = KB / 1024 = MB / 1024 = GB

Also Privazer sometimes "shortens", so that nothing is right anymore (See picture).

I reported that a few years ago (2017).

    Greetings Somebody111

    Thanks for the investigation.

Another note: PrivaZer often "shortens" when deleting multiple files and folders together, e.g. when manually cleaning %temp% and %windir%\temp. It's easy to understand there.

Question: I didn't find an autostart function in PrivaZer with automatic shrinking to the task bar at the bottom right. I didn't see it?

My virus scanner has problems with "privazer_remover.exe", or better with "privazer_remover.reg", which creates it in the %temp%-subfolder. Adding as an exception doesn't help.
As a result, it sometimes takes over 2 minutes or more for the PrivaZer window to close. If PrivaZer is active in the task manager, it closes immediately.

That's why I setup an autostart for PrivaZer with a 3-minute delay via the task scheduler, which makes starting it via the context menu much faster. I don't want it in the autostart folder, a minimized start window would be possible there, but no delay.

Is there a switch for PrivaZer, e.g. "/minimize" or similar?

Suggestion for improvement: This could possibly also be integrated in the program - selectable ?!? ~25-45KB RAM should be left over by most. ;):D

    Greetings

    Just a strange observation.

I use Sandboxie and when I close it, I delete the contents of Sandboxie with Privazer.
I've added that Sandboxie cleaning to "Clean my Internet traces."
    And here is my question.
After I clean my closed Sandboxie with Privazer, CCleaner, and WiseCare 365, I open Reg Organizer, and Reg Organizer informs me that I have a lot of "something" left on my Internet Information Service logs.
    Internet-1.png

    It's something related to WMI.

What is it? Why isn't Privazer removing them?

    I have 3 comps with Windows 11.
I've just recently updated them from Win10.

    Another question.

After I'm finished with Sandboxed Browser, I delete the contents of Sandboxie with Privazer, but...
    I've discovered an interesting thing.
When I run Wise Care 365 (after I cleaned my Internet traces with Privazer and CCleaner with CCEnhancer), WiseCare finds some "leftover" cookies.
    WiseCare-cookies.png
All of those "traces" are for IE - I don't use IE.
    WiseCare-cookies-2.png

When I click WiseCare to Clean those IE cookies, they disappear.

    WiseCare-cookies-3.png

I'd like to know what's going on with those IE cookies ( N.B. I don't use IE) that only Wise Care 365 finds and removes them.

Just use regisrty tracer to see what Wise Care 365 find(s), analyze, add it to your software. Done.

    Hello @moredhelfinland,

That would be great if we could just work like. In fact, there are some limitations :
    • It happens that some findings by some other cleaners should not be cleaned
    • We tried to reproduce on Win11 if we could find the leftovers in "Internet in format on services log" described by @zmechys but we could not.
    • Having the details (filenames and paths) give us in many case the possibility to provide an explanation or a solution.

Here is the path from my Laptop.
Could it be related to some VPN?
All those files have information of about 11MB.

    Laptop.png

I've started searching on the Internet about those "strange" files.
And here is what I've found:
    (Just to start)

During the launch of Windows 10, Microsoft irked the entire PC community when it included Diagtrack in the system. Although the program is not visible, it is enabled on most updated versions of Windows 7 and above. If you’re wondering what DiagTrack is, if it’s safe, how to fix its errors, and how you can disable it from your Windows, here is all about it.

DiagTrack is a tool that is responsible for sending system data to Microsoft servers periodically. It is part of the Connected User Experience and Telemetry component, also known as the Universal Telemetry Client (UTC)."

Thanks @The_PrivaZer_Team for excellent SAFE wipe outs of Windows MFT etc. I use Directory Snoop to ensure that Low Level area is indeed cleared and every time it shows the progress PrivaZer has performed and this computer never ran better.

It's a regular routine for the Spindle HDD's and it's efficiency is unmatched!

    Thanks @EASTER.

    @all
Telemetry management add-on is on the roadmap of PrivaZer in order to have an all-in-one tool.
    We keep you posted.
