I stopped using them awhile ago too. For one thing they have an office in the USA so for a US citizen you can't get a bigger red flag!!

Protonmail does at least have an onion page where you can safely sign in and there is NO IP to trace using their onion link.

Protonmail celebrates Swiss court victory exempting it from telco data retention laws
Doesn't stop local courts' surveillance orders, though

I've been using Proton for several years now. The thing that's most impressed me is that I've never had any spam. :thumb:

Works just fine for me and considering the spam filter in tutanota is very ineffective, protonmail shall now be my main email service.

I've been using their e-mail freebie now since their inception with no hitches. From what I've gleaned via web reviews about their VPN, I'll either stick with Surfshark or maybe move on to NordVPN. Proton's free email service is stellar imo and frequently updated. Definitely worth a spin. :thumb:

i use both mail client and on both i have totaly 0 spam i repeat 0 spam !!

Instead of flame tutanota consider to not share your email and use on mass scale in unknown and toxic social media your email which they sell your data on left and right, other way even best filter will not help you.
You can also check if your email has been leaked on darkweb by know list here https://haveibeenpwned.com

    Solution on future
If you need enter some social media webs but you dont care on acc and other you can use fake/temp mail generator as cannon fodder
Use two or more separate emails for other things 1 for privacy and 2nd for buisness or more important think like only shopping / paymetns
When you decide use separate email for social media you can also think about use aliases each one for different website you will faster figure out who sell your data and bloat your email by this technique and not only :cautious:

this is IMO unacceptable for serious email provider like proton :-(.
just yesterday I was recommending them to my friend that need good email and want's to escape from gmail.

They do seem to suffer from an inordinately high amount of gremlins. They always have a plausible excuse though. Proton, I mean. I'm not sure what the gremlins claim. Although I'm guessing the gremlins probably use a more reliable email.

I just started using Proton mail a couple of days ago as I post this. Proton mail requires a "bridge" if used with MS Outlook. But it is very easy to set up. Will post if I encounter any issues.
