I kinda like Becky, just tested it. But fetching emails took a about 20sec, while Gmail Notifier Pro does it instantly.
i am running Becky! Mail since v1 and NO issues that far, Carthy is a very ambiguous author. i use a lot of plugins. 2.75.04 is currently the latest here because of powerful customizer (do not work with 2.80). Becky! Mail is also portable with its preliminaries, fast and secure mail program. its not that hyped as TheBat, Outlook, emClient or other, but i love it for years. it exist in english, japanese and german, i am proud of my landsman doing that job i did before, its a lot of work. meanwhile i prefer the english build. i dont have any clue why VS is complaining but at least it only could be a false positive. this is some piece of software vs a lot of experience, and i prefer my 20 years of experience with Becky! now ^^ i know some user switched to Thunderbird, for no reason i would say. Thunderbird includes a rendering engine named gecko, while Becky! saddled on internet explorer and now MsEdge. thats why it is such damn small. it offers a lot of features, some by plugins, you can style your own buttons with ease (do not rely on an extension). A VS alert does not necessarily mean the app is malware. It just means that the app's hash "thumbprint" is not on the whitelist. Moreover, VS's whitelist cloud is a reputation checker, and does not check for malware as such. SAP also is a whitelist based app. Did Apex or SAP's AVs in-the-clouds report that Becky is malware or was it just an anti-exe alert?

based on the current Gmail and 2FA problem for many people - Becky! is capable of using OAUth2 too, found it today in settings. (usable for gmail and outlook.com)
