Whenever I try to run a browser in SBIE that broswer is not able to see that I'm also running adguard. If I install the suggested extension, so that AdGuard for Windows and my browser can interact with each other, the extensions says that AdGuard for Windows is not running. Of course, it is. So, what exclusion needs to be added to SBIE in order for the two two see each other?

are you sure that adguard for windows is installing a necessary extension? i dont think so:
    https://adguard.com/en/compare.html?os=windows

technically it makes no sense to insert firefox a cert because AG breaks up the line for SSL inspection (MITM) and then to insert an extension which do similar the same as an ad blocker for a browser - without interception.

what i suppose - if so - both communicate with an internally localhost connection

I think that he talks for AdGuard Browser Assistant and not for AdGuard Browser extension.

I assume you mean the adguard desktop version. For me it only works with sandboxie when I use the "legacy" assistant.

    that sounds different, thx

best way to find out is to use sysinternals tcpview or a decent process manager eg like "process hacker" to have a look at the connections, you probably will find between AG and browser. ofc outside sandboxie.

firefox do not accept legacy extensions! current extension

Afaik it's not a legacy FF extension. It get's installed/used when you check the box in the picture from my first post.
And yes it works I'm running it right now with sb classic 5.55.20. Red border=sandboxed (didn't like sb yellow one)

the term "legacy" for extensions is explicit, sorry. for chrome it may come when manifest v2 runs out. for firefox its a definition for "not an webextension". adguard should clarify what "legacy" means from their view. the "issue" for all current (mainstream) browsers is that no extension can be installed silently.

for the icon, sure thats from extension and not from "ag for windows"?

Thanks. I saw that, but it doesn't really give any solution. The last post just says there's an issue. It seems like there's no way to use the extension. So, for now, I'll have to use the legacy assistant. Which is what I've done in the past, but prefer to not have injections into every page.

Thanks @Freki123, that's what I was afraid of.
