It's working again but the installer has a different hash.

@Krusty how do you get on Dan's email list? I am trying to get back to using VS. I feel like I need a refresher course as well lol.

Contact Dan and ask him to be on the VoodooShield Beta test Group if he will allow more I don't know? support at voodooshield.com as that is where we get the emails from.

I'm trying to remember if you can use VS Pro and DefenderUI at the same time? I am currently using VS Free and DefenderUI; but I have a VS Pro license that I could switch this to. However, if I remember correctly, there was a reason why I didn't use VS Pro and DefenderUI at the same time.

you cannot (or should not) use VS Pro and defenderUI "PRO" at the same time (as the pro version has parts of vs in it)

Thank you very much for that clarification. Very helpful! I just went to DefenderUI website, however, and found no mention there of DefenderUI PRO. It just says "Download Free" and lists version 1.01.

the pro version has some extra protection (some part of voodooshield built in), which gives a pop up for unknown/risk .exe files and analyzes against whitelist cloud - this is why you shouldnt run DUIPRO with VSPRO as they may conflict.

Quick tip for any VS Pro user upgrading to v7.08. If you get an issue with recognition of your existing license after upgrading via the internal updater then just rollback (if you have a suitable prior image) or uninstall and then try installing using the standalone updater.

Seems to have worked for me.

    Cheers, Baldrick :)

I didn't have any issues with internal updating to v7.08 from v7.07.

If VS Free is being discontinued, then should people using the free version decline program updates? I would imagine if you have the Free version and you let it upgrade to a newer version, then you'll get channeled into the Pro Trial version.

I would start looking for an alternative for your security needs. I don't think it's good to use an security app that receives no updates/bug fixes (in the long run).

Just got the notice the VS Free is being discontinued. A bit bummed, but it is what it is.

My real question though is about this WhiteList Cloud. Was this always part of VoodooShield or is it new? I noticed it has an icon now.

Also, since VoodooShield seems to be becoming more comprehensive, will it eventually auto-disable Windows Defender like other antiviruses? This would be nice since I don't really want or need Windows Defender, but Microsoft is making it harder to disable.

whitelistcloud you can enable/disable it and or remove the icon within the settings.
Voodooshiled is not an antivirus, if you wish to disable defender you would need to do that yourself

Looks like VS Pro price, excluding discount, is rising from $30pa (as shown on Troopers post #18685 earlier on this page) so may be worth grabbing this offer while it's available!

Well almost 11 years of the free version so I think it's about time to get paid for such a great security program.

Agree with you @Triple Helix. I have question, tough, does it activate when you buy it or upon installation?
    Thanks:)
