    Onedrive does the same, they even announced it along with the cooperation with police and busted a few people because of it, but I am pretty sure that any other cloud provider bound by laws follows the same path.

    Not just encrypting files, encrypt file names as well.

    Maybe you are "pretty sure", but I would like to see some evidence that IceDrive employees read the content of uploaded files.

    Part of IceDrive's claim to fame is their Twofish encryption and client side encryption of file names and content before residing in storage. Fat chance anyone will be taking a peek at your data if that's true.
    Any news to the contrary would irreparably trash this promising upstart's reputation and their crew appears to be way too competitive to be so easily compromised.

    Interesting comments in this thread. I just looked on TrustPilot to see how this service has been reviewed and one comment was that their account had been suspended twice because the poster had "uploaded details of 300 stolen credit cards". This does seem unlikely and peculiar.

    I read the same post and my interpretation is that the poster's son attempted to pay IceDrive with illegit credit cards for the account. To my eyes, the post made no reference to "uploaded details of 300 stolen credit cards." The post meanders along in claiming that his son was falsely accused
    of attempting to use multiple stolen credit cards to pay for a 20GB free account (a figment of the imagination with IceDrive btw). Anyway, thanks for turning me on to Trustpilot.

    Apologies. I reread the review and you're right. The Trustpilot review I referred to quoted a response from an IceDrive employee thus: "I have personally investigated your case after such serious claims. Upon investigation it appears that the reason you were suspended was due to using stolen credit cards, over 300 attempts with numerous different cards in fact."

    Early morning + not enough coffee = sloppy thinking!

    He is running it alongside of SecureAPlus Essentials (SA+E). SA+E is a combo whitelist/antivirus/signature-checker/default-deny app. It fingerprints sigs with SHA-256 & has a user-settable process to kill bad scripts. Excellent support via home base at Singapore. AFAIK, SA+ has never been tested by a top tier testing outfit but it caught several nasties for me & I was never infected over the years that I used it. Was it luck or SAP+ -- who knows?

    Sad to say, SA+ is changing its name to CatchPulse, which (as a marketing tactic) is somewhat like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. :cautious:
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Back OT: Due to current situations, I recently increased my real-time security to OSArmor (OSA), Voodoo Shield (VS), Malwarebytes Anti-exploit (MBAE), & AVG (a top-tier AV + FW). I use KVRT & WiseVectorSX for on-demand scans.
    However, I ran into some comments here at Wilders that caused me to re-assess whether I truly NEEDED all that real-time security. So I dropped VS & MBAE. RESULT:
    Security Set-Up:
    Real-time: OSA & AVG (my aging laptop is VERY zippy with these 2 on-board).
    On-demand: KVRT & WVSX plus R-Drive Image
    Browser: uBlock origin, Decentraleyes
    I'm sure you will agree that my set-up is THE best you have ever seen -- totally bullet-proof, right? :eek: What? You disagree?!! Well then -- any & all suggested changes are always welcome. :mad:
    Probably, but I don't care. No conflicts (much), no slow-downs. They're just toys I like to play with.
    Aloha...
    MR? Uh... Mixed Reactions? Mildly Repulsive? What?
    Also, don't MS Defender & WVSX ever bump heads?
    Macrium Reflect.
    @WiseVector has mentioned there is no clash, but if MS Defender acts first WVSX won't. No butting of heads.
    Yes! From: Moose World My Ice Account was removed do to pictures of my girlfriends,
    send me. So be careful what your girlfriends send you. I thought I save these memories!
    Pictures, no big deal, I will just upload them on Ice Account. They said, that I violation
    their rules and they deleted my Ice Account.
    But the free plan does not have Zero Knowledge Encryption. Only the Paid Plan
    have has Zero Knowledge Encryption. So keep this in mind, when uploading, no matter
    what, encrypt your files, folders and pictures, etc...
    You never know who looking at them....
