    Good way to get folks to use a 3rd party file explorer.

    or a systemwide ad blocker like adguard. or a dns level ad blocker like nextdns.

    Oh ewww. I wonder if you can block that specific action in the firewall. Or, better still, I have some telemetry/advert. block rules enabled in Windows firewall. I almost want to install Windows 11 and test that concept.

    Oh wait, no, what am I saying? :eek: Never mind. It's a ways yet from Windows 10 anyway. Horrible idea, putting ads in something you'd think was sacrosanct.

    i'm sure you can. alternatively you can use the hosts file.

    That's assuming they come from a known ad server and not from something at Microsoft that is not flagged as such. If they wanted them to get through they could include them with Defender updates. :isay:

    I saw an ad on my lockscreen this morning. Release Preview channel. I hope it does not continue.
