Salutations/Greetings, http:// download.comodo.com/cis/download/installs/8040/standalone/cfw_installer.exe Hope this help-out someone.
Here's the full offline install version Comodo IS. You can opt out of the antivirus and their browser and just install the firewall. I downloaded and installed this several weeks ago. Never had a problem with Majorgeeks. https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/comodo_internet_security.html

not sure how powerful Comodo products are. but my memory holds a lot of disputes with these products. not sure if this would be a right choice. WFC is a better choice from my view (although i use another solution).
The free firewall only, as posted in this thread, is as incredibly powerful as the user wants it to be, and they know how to set it up that way.
Well, since we're on the subject... Back in my Win7 days, I used CF when OA sold out. Their granularity in configuring rules was impressive. Just our of curiosity, in the current CF version running in Win10, on my system having 60 instances of svhost.exe, could I create a rule for "C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe -k netsvcs -p" (and a couple more other -k whatever -something etc.) without disturbing any other Network Service types? Cheers.
Hmmm... the view from Mount Olympus must be beautiful this time of year. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ CFW is very powerful when configured according to settings recommended by @cruelsister -- see HERE.
I'm a fan of CF + CS settings. I used it for many years. I loved it! But CF does not have updates at least since two years ago. And nowadays it's full of bugs! It is not reliable. Two years ago they released a beta version, but it is quite a fake version because it does not eliminate almost any of the known bugs (and they're hundreds). Also, the software is not compatible with Windows 11. This info comes directly from the Comodo forum moderators.
The last STABLE version is 12.2.2.7036 (02 March 2020). Here is the official Comodo history version: https://cdn.download.comodo.com/cis/download/installs/updates/release/inis_5150/release_notes.html The number of the version is based on CIS, but it works for each Comodo subproduct (including CF). Every version launched after 12.2.2.7036 is BETA, not considered an updated nor an upgraded. Even worse, the BETA that was released long time ago, as I said, is a kind of fake, because most of the very old known bugs are still there. Final words: It's not the end of the world a software without upgrades/updates. But security software, and security software with lot of bugs + not compatible with Windows 11... NO WAY!
The best and easiest way to download Comodo Firewall is, as should be no surprise, from the official Comodo Firewall page found here (choose "Free Firewall"): https://personalfirewall.comodo.com/ This will result in the download of CF 12.2.2.8012 which is the latest (non beta) version. I hope this clears things up as there is no mystery here.
In my case, the download from Comodo is always slow. I hunted all over - Comodo offline install used to be available everywhere. Now, it's the 5.4mb stub, except Major Geeks which has become my go-to site when I can't find anything anywhere else, and their downloads are fast and virus free. It's a legit site.
v12.2.2.8012 is not appearing as "stable" at official Comodo history versions. And at the official Comodo forum, official Comodo moderators refer to v12.2.2.8012 as some sort of BETA. I say "sort of" because it doesn't really matter if v12.2.2.8012 is beta or stable. The point here is: a) v12.2.2.8012 was released on March 28/2021, a year ago! And I know this is a matter of personal opinion, but IMHO, security software without regular updates and upgrades... UNACCEPTABLE! b) v12.2.2.8012 is full of bugs. c) v12.2.2.8012 is not compatible with Windows 11 (quoting the words of Comodo's moderators). PS: @cruelsister... I love you!
"IMHO"? Hmmm... if I label my own self as "H", doing so will contradict that "H", will it not? Back on topic -- IMO, FWs do not usually need updates nearly so often as AVs. Comments?
so true. so much so that agnitum's opfw and oss still work like a charm to this day on rigs running win 7 and win 8.1.
At Comodo forum you can found pages and pages with users sharing Comodo bugs since 2020. Many of these bugs continue to exist today. Instead of facing the real problem (bugs and lack of updates), Comodo moderators and Comodo fanatics blame Windows 11 incompatibilities. Or usually, they also blame the sky, the sea, the wind, everything but never Comodo itself. In theory, Comodo moderators are trying to say that the official Comodo for Windows 11 was not launched yet. And that is a easy way to hide current Comodo bugs.
Yeah, you're right, a good FW doesn't need regular updates or upgrades. But... CF is not a simple firewall. CF is much more than a simple firewall. As you know, CF has lot of functions complementing firewall functions. Many of these "not firewall" functions require updates and upgrades. But as I said, updates or upgrades is not really the point. CF has lot of bugs... period. These bugs were reported since 2020. The version launched in 2021 still has same bugs. And security software with bugs, no updates, incompatibilities with Windows 11 etc etc etc... should deserve criticism from users.
Thats what i have in mind and wrote above. Nevertheless CFW should have been working for regular user it seems. Thus i am no neutral source. Ofc security software should up-to-date, 2 years is like a decade, in special for windows 11. win11 is special, it raises security some more. signing, certs etc have to fit some more, so i can understand comodos moaning about this, but at least to get some market share back its mandatory. a lot of software disappeared, not only because of mandatory driver signing for x64 which means extra costs.
