Years ago I bought and then I had to remove Zemana AntiMalware because it was returning too many false positives. Can anyone say if this problem has been solved in the most recent version?

    Thanks again.

I doubt it, and is pretty much been abandoned. It's nearly a year since they released a new version.

I still run it as a second (well, more like fourth) opinion scanner now and then.

The only reports I ever got were false positives about a TeamViewer update, when I forgot to close ZAM after scanning…

The OP got me to wondering, myself.

As I recall, AntiMalware, unlike the AntiLogger product, is cloud dependent for core updates and zero-day threat management much like BitDefender free and Immunet. If things haven't changed in the four years since I switched to Defender, BD core components and libraries (i.e. avcuf64.dll) get updated in the background, exe version updates being maintenance, feature and GUI preoccupied. And Zemana touts its neural engine which "gets smarter day by day." Within that construct, the "update for the sake of update" bromide might have little standing.
    However, that's not very encouraging.
Do you monitor your network connections to see if it's hitting servers? Of course, that means the server side would need to be time critical... updated. And how would we know?

As well, false positives are subjective. I get 'em from Defender for some NirSoft stuff.

I was wondering about this recently, I believe Zemana is pretty dead. Their blog is also not being updated and I can't find them on Instagram.

There was an offshoot of Zemana supposedly being developed--using the Zemana SDK. It was (is?) called Watchdog Antimalware. Even that sort of died over on Malwaretips. Nothing from anyone since November 2021.

You can't install Zemana anyway, without disabling Memory Integrity in Defender Security. That's a big hurdle of itself, never mind the radio silence. Probably someone wouldn't know where to look to clear the block.

You can take a look this topic on Malwaretips forum :
    https://malwaretips.com/threads/wat...feedback-suggestions-feature-requests.110404/

From their new .4 version , seems no longer using Zemana's engine ,
they are trying to develop their own technology ,
and there will become two product , the Anti-Virus and Anti-Malware .

I got a lifetime license for Zemana Antilogger and had to stop using it due to tons of FPs.

Strange I couldn't find them. But seems like they haven't been active in months.

Installed the free version and after a scan, Zemana insisted that there were malwares in some of my Firefox addons. Even in one of the themes I downloaded from Mozilla's site.
OK, I trusted in Zemana and quarantined them all... to be honest, now my laptop is not overheating as before.
I remember this happened some years ago when I was an Emsisoft user: my machine started to overheat a lot! to the point where it was impossible to use it for more than 20 or 30 minutes! I had to shut it down or put it to sleep to cool it down.
I suspected it was some malware and tried many antimalware softwares and the only one that could find a fileless malware was Zemana. That's why it has a special place in my heart :)
Too bad it seems like it's abandoned. Hope it's not.
