It seems judging by the policies for possible incompatibility issues with websites.
One registry key to enable the new feature + 2 registry keys to apply or exclude the feature in websites, like an allow/exclude list.

It would also be interesting to understand how the user can verify the actual activation of the feature, and which hardware is supported or not.

Twice now in the last two days running Edge beta Version 98.0.1108.27 (Official build) beta (64-bit) on Linux, I've seen this space appear above tabs as seen in the first attachment. The second attachment is of course a normal tab extending to the top of the browser window. It corrects if I restart the browser. Is anyone else seeing this, even in latest stable on either Windows or Linux?

    EDIT

just discovered if I click the Maximize button it goes to full height :D

Crazy man lol. Hey what theme is that you are using? I realize that you are on Linux and I am on Windows but I've never seen that color before. :O

Looks like these are new features for Enhanced Security mode(previously known as Super Duper Secure Mode). Though it seems the article confuses the two. It looks like only ACG is new.
As explained in the super duper secure mode blog, these features are not enabled on the renderer process because it is incompatible with JIT, so that needs to be disabled and that is why it is still an optional feature. Afaik if you disable JIT in other Chromium based browsers(https://www.wilderssecurity.com/thr...-chromium-based-browsers.440286/#post-3032565), they also enable these mitigations. (https://madaidans-insecurities.github.io/firefox-chromium.html)(Though the hardware mitigation is not mentioned, so may be Edge is the only one with that or maybe it has been added to Chromium in the time after this article was written.) For the hardware migitation you need Zen 3 or later for AMD and afaik 11th gen or later for Intel.
In Windows Task Manager, in the details tab, there is a Hardware-enforced Stack Protection column where you can verify whether it is enabled. (Process Explorer has a similarly named column.)

I've already checked hardware mitigation and my CPU is probably incompatible.
I also checked ACG but my browser won't start.
On the other hand, I read that Kees1958 can open the browser but has some issues.
Probably some incompatible extension or who knows what else.
    Let's wait and see.:thumb:;):)

Thank you for confirming this. I just recently enabled this in Edge but did not know how to confirm if it was enabled. I have a 9th gen Intel CPU so I now know that it is not enabled for me.

    Cheers.

Thank you @Sampei Nihira I just set mine back to default. I am trying to use Edge again as my default browser and have enabled these flags in Edge. Is this sufficient or are there others that I am missing?

Of note, even though I have the autoplay block mode flag enabled, videos on all sites still autoplay. Is there something else I can do or must I find an extension that will handle it?

    Thanks!

    You might consider these:

    • Block scripts loaded via document.write - enabled
    • Enable Digital Signature for PDF - enabled
    • Experimental Tracking Prevention Features - enabled
    • Show feature and workflow recommendations - disabled
    • Allow tab-to-search using Microsoft Search with Bing - disabled
    • Allow Microsoft Search with Bing for any default search engine - disabled
    About autoplay I read:

"Media will be blocked when exploring between sites".

Multimedia is not my area of expertise, probably other W. members can advise you better than me.;):)

Thank you @Sampei Nihira just added the flags you mentioned. No worries on autoplay, I am sure someone else can chime in.

I've had no luck with it and it is the reason I don't use Edge. I've heard blocking autoplay is a feature that is still in the making but they have had plenty of time to do so.

I hear that. I am only using it for work. I have too many things that do not play nice with Firefox and I don't have the time to tweak everything to my liking.

OK thanks for the info, so I suppose these mitigations may also break stuff.

I deleted the 4 insecure cipher suites 1.0/1.1/1.2 from Edge:

you need to create the registry key as per the path in the image and then insert the string values as per the image below:
