Desktop Windows 8.1 Highly active-highly favored
Laptop with Windows 10 collecting dust on a table. No interest in it except hooking HDMI to it on occasion for large screen movies.

2 desktops, one is running many installations of Windows 10 and the other Windows 11.
4 laptops, the one I use daily is running Windows 11 and the others, Windows 10.

I also have various other old laptops I use on occasion. Most are running Windows 10, but I've upgraded some to Windows 11.

1 laptop with Win 10. When my son did his mandatory military service I used his laptop as well therefore I had 2 similar fast machines for a while, I thought it's good to see what it feels like to work with 2 almost identical computers in terms of hardware... Well it was a disaster in terms of work flow almost like having two apartments in the same city without any immediate advantage as you can only live in one at a time. I saw no advantage whatsoever, if my current laptop dies, I can get another one in a day or two and let Macrium do the rest. My daughter as well has a laptop, my wife decided that her smartphone was more than enough...

All kinds of computers, mostly running Linux with some legacy Windows use. In general daily use, I have 3 laptops and 2 minis. My computer use is compartmentalized and each has its purpose. I've got at least 10 more that get occasional use. I use computers like notebooks and some get opened more often and I'm nomadic in what I use and transfer data and OSes from one machine to another quite often. Hardware is cheap and has been for a while. I have loads of extra computers, laptops, printers, scanners, media devices etc. Most have cost me nothing or very little. And I live a pretty isolated life, it's not like I live in the a big city where there is even more abundant surplus hardware.

One Win 8.1 desktop (8 years old) and one Win 10 laptop (1,5 years old).

I mostly use the desktop but in the night I switch to my laptop, I'm a stocktrader so during cooking it's handy to keep an eye on stockprices. After I'm done eating I usually continue to work on my laptop (on kitchen table) otherwise it would be a waste of money.
