Yeah, which I personally will still give them.

After using it for many months. Looking at their blogs and interactions with the users, I saw they are really serious about giving the average user a not only private but also convenient and easy browser to use.

I also saw how many people try to personally attack them. Someone even attempted to use a blog to try to make Brave look bad, only for a Brave dev to respond to every single one of the allegations and proved them wrong. This was talked about in a subreddit where Brave was kinda (at the time) unpopular. So the fact people there where taking Brave’s side give more credit to them and shows how wrong that blogger was.

Its things like these that gives me pause whenever someone or an article tries to put them in a bad light.

It's still old news and it's still clickbait as the issue is moot.
Please point to any browser you can trust unconditionally. They don't exist.

even so, i'd rather go with the lesser evil, e.g. fox, vivaldi, edge. at least they didn't get caught with their pants down, you know.

    It's not about "trusting unconditionally".
I don't care if Brave's own search engine goes somewhere else.
I can install other search engines, but...
    I have my minimum requirements.
One of them is getting the desirable results from Do I leak.
    Here is another but...

When many many years ago, I studied computer programming, my teacher always demanded one thing from us,
    "Program to INTERFACE".
It's the CUSTOMER that needs your program/software.
    The customer is the boss.
When I ask the "NICE PEOPLE" from Brave to deal with those "Third-Party Cookies", the brave people don't need to argue with me; otherwise, I will uninstall Brave.

I've reported earlier that Brave's spell check was not functioning on Disqus.
I've thought it was my personal issue, but...

It's, kind of, permanent issue with Brave.
"spell check not working on Disqus comment boxes"

    https://github.com/brave/browser-laptop/issues/10040

Plus, Can’t download dictionary spell check

    https://community.brave.com/t/cant-download-dictionary-spell-check/137038

    And so on...

    In short.

Lot's of very strange issues with Brave, but...

It's one of the "BEST" (o_O) browsers.

    Go figure...

Some of you probably already know this. But for those that don’t, I thought it would be good to know what filters Brave uses.

    https://github.com/brave/adblock-resources/blob/master/filter_lists/default.json
    - uBlock Origin Filters
    - uBlock Origin 2020 Filters
    - uBlock Origin 2021 Filters

    - uBlock Origin filters – Resource abuse
    - uBlock Origin filters - Unbreak
    - EasyList

If you go to Brave://Adblock it shows a handful of Additional filters.

And in case you didn't know, you may now add custom filter lists to Brave Adblock. But heed their warning about adding too many!

Yeah. Though some list will probably not work.

For example the Clear URL list doesn't work. You would need to use the extension or ublock if you want to use that filterlist

    Hi

I usually shut down my pc with the power button even though all things are not closed. Brave browser do not like it and always asks me with a pop-up when starting again if i want to restore from the sudden closing. How do i inactivate these messages? I can not find how.

Edge has the possibility to stop that.
I should exist something that can hinder it since one should have a choice over it.

I think Brave is the browser I've been looking for.

    wide.jpg

Not only is it very secure, it remembers my passwords. So, that's something Brave can do that Chrome and Bugvaldi can't do on Ubuntu in my experience. It's also light and fast.
