I have 2 Windows 10 PCs with SpywareBlaster installed and I use Brave as my default browser on both. SpywareBlaster on 1 of them detects Brave as an installed browser and allows me to enable protection for it, but the installation on my other PC doesn't detect Brave and I can't enable protection for it. I have removed and reinstalled SpywareBlaster but Brave still isn't detected, how can I get it to detect Brave properly. the PC not detecting Brave is Win10 Home, that's the only difference I can see, do I need Pro to enable Brave protection? the PC that detects Brave is: Edition Windows 10 Pro Version 21H1 Installed on 9/8/2021 OS build 19043.1387 Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3920.0 the PC that isn't detecting Brave is: Edition Windows 10 Home Version 21H1 Installed on 2/24/2021 OS build 19043.1415 Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3920.0
Hi WhiteKenny, That's a bit odd that it's not detecting Brave on that one system. However, there is a workaround to force SpywareBlaster to detect Brave as installed. Assuming it's a 64-bit Windows installation, simply create the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\SpywareBlaster\ForceDetect\Brave (If 32-bit Windows, omit the "Wow6432Node" portion.) Once that's created, open SpywareBlaster and it should show Brave as detected.
Are you running 64-bit or 32-bit Windows 10? Also, please keep in mind that you must create a registry key named "Brave" under: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\SpywareBlaster\ForceDetect (Not a value. It should be a key named "Brave".)
