    After you have applied the promo code, this is what you will see. The same promo discount will be given next year too.

    OK cool! But what happens if you skip a year? So let's say you buy a subscription for 2022, you stop it in 2023 and renew in 2024. Will you get the same discount?

    Do you have to buy another license to use the promo code.

    I am not normally one who likes auto-updates, but have allowed it now on OSA. Works nicely, thanks for this fine tool Andreas.

    I need advice. My questions might be related to what Rasheed187 asked in post 3977 above.
    I am on v1.4.3 of OSA using mostly defaults.
    Almost a year ago I grabbed the 40% licence (thank you NVT-Andreas) and downloaded v1.5.4.
    To this day I haven't installed it.
    The licence will be renewing, still at 40%, in about two weeks. And I will pay ofcourse.

    Since I'm so behind, I could use fresh answers to few migration things:
    1. Should I download the latest 1.6.x version or am I tied to that uninstalled 1.5.4?
    2. Before installing should I uninstall 1.4.3 or do it on top?
    3. I don't have to wait for the reneweal date, right?
    4. Does the new OSA still coexist with MBAE-Malwarebytes Antiexploit?
    5. I could use the most current list of the licence manager unit so that I can properly answer when my firewall detects new programs wanting out.

    Currently I'm on Windows 10 pro 21H2, using Windows/MS Defender, with Configure Defender on High, MBAE, and Sphinx Plus version of the sphinx-soft firewall.
    SeaMonkey+NoScript and Vivaldi+ScriptSafe browsers I use most of the time, Edge when I must.

    > But what happens if you skip a year?

    According to OSArmor FAQs:

    What happens if I do not use (activate) purchased licenses?
    They will expire normally after 1 year from when you made the purchase.

    If you skip a year the license will expire and will not be valid (thus losing the discount).

    @Dragon1952

    Yes, it cannot be applied to already purchased licenses.

    @paulderdash

    Great!

    @Feandur

    I guess the phone number is required by FastSpring for the invoice.

    @act8192

    > 1. Should I download the latest 1.6.x version or am I tied to that uninstalled 1.5.4?

    If your license is valid it will work fine with OSArmor 1.6.x and any other future versions (as long as the license is not expired).

    > 2. Before installing should I uninstall 1.4.3 or do it on top?

    Since you're using OSA 1.4.3 I would recommend you to fully uninstall it, reboot the PC and then install OSA 1.6.x

    > 3. I don't have to wait for the reneweal date, right?

    Yes, the license should be auto-renewed by FastSpring, you should receive a email notification two weeks and one week before the renewal.

    > 4. Does the new OSA still coexist with MBAE-Malwarebytes Antiexploit?

    Yes, there should be no issues.

    > 5. I could use the most current list of the licence manager unit so that I can properly answer when my firewall detects new programs wanting out.

    On your firewall software you should allow following processes for outbound connections on TCP port 443 (HTTPS):

    Code:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\NoVirusThanks\NVT License Manager\NVTActivator.exe
    C:\Program Files (x86)\NoVirusThanks\NVT License Manager\NVTLicenseManager.exe
    C:\Program Files\NoVirusThanks\OSArmorDevSvc\NVTHelperProcess.exe
    C:\Program Files\NoVirusThanks\OSArmorDevSvc\OSArmorDevSvc.exe

    All the above executables are digitally signed.

    Got another one. For a future win 11 box.
    The discount makes 2 affordable.

    Thanks Andreas.

    I followed instructions in post 3982. Rebooted twice after installation.
    There is no OSA icon in the system tray. OSA is not running. The 2 services do exist in the services list, both are Automatic, but haven't started. Not sure if I should start them without asking first as there might be a more legitimate way to start it.
    When I asked to run OSArmorDevSvc (as admin), it tells me the services haven't started.
    Perhaps I need to run OSA under the admin account. But I normally use just the standard user account.

    What should I do?

    The issue you reported may be caused by a third-party security software or software restriction policy that is blocking OSArmor processes.

    You should allow or exclude all .exe and .dll files located in the following folders:

    Code:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\NoVirusThanks\NVT License Manager\
    C:\Program Files\NoVirusThanks\OSArmorDevSvc\

    Make sure they are allowed or excluded in your other security software. Then try to restart the PC and if problem persists, try to uninstall and re-install OSArmor.

    You can use Task Manager to check that OSArmorDevSvc.exe, NVTHelperProcess.exe and NVTLicenseManager.exe are running in the system.

    Please let me know.

    My Sphinx firewall has not yet had a chance to see it.
    MBAE and ConfigurDefender logs said nothing.
    If I knew what to look for in the windows event log, I would snoop there. Should I somehow do it?
    I will reinstall on top.

    In case you need to know: this is Windows 10 pro 21H2 feature job which I put in Dec.14. No secure boot, no fast start, no hibernation.

    I uninstalled 1.6.7, rebooted, and reinstalled and rebooted.
    Same problem. Iclick the OSA icon to start it, and it says OSAdevSvc is not running, and that I can start the service or reinstall.
    So I went to services and started it. I cannot start the service in Task Mgr 'cause there's no way to run it as admin. But the services display in Task Manager says the service is stopped.
    Either Windows or I lost my mind. See attached.

    Edit: I logged into my low level admin account. Identical problem:

    Maybe left over remnants from v1.4.3 interfering? Just a thought.

    Clearly, it's something on my end since many of you are running it just fine.
    After uninstalling remnants from 1.4.3 I did look around a bit but nothing jumped out.

    Many pages back I read bout two drivers. They're not loading. Sounds like something very early in the boot sequence.

    I see NVTLicenseManager.exe service is not running, is there something that is blocking its execution?

    No idea what's blocking it.
    When I manually started licence manager service, it started.
    But automatically it does not. I snooped in event viewer and it said error about not meeting the time within 180000ms. And OSArmorDevSvc could not connect to the service controller in timely manner.
    This is as close as I can describe since my skills with the event viewer are nill.

    I wonder if License manager must start before OSA service, and if it doesn't OSArmor won't work. I assume at this point that when I try to run OSA it'll ask me for the license. Correct?

    I will do an experiment in Services to start delayed.

    Is there any third-party security software installed that might interfere with OSA in one way or another?

    @Buddel, good idea, but no blocks that I can see.

    @novirusthanks,
    I tried setting both services to start Automatic(delayed), rebooted. Still no go.
    But something has changed. When I clicked on the OSArmor icon, a window appeared and vanished and does not appear again. I caught "Protection disabled" in red letters.
    And it followed, as before, with "reboot or restart OSArmor service or reinstall".
    Task Manager insists both services are Stopped.

    What is the current version of NVTLicenseManager?
    I ask because I want to make sure what I got in OSA 1.6.7 is ok.
    Program properties and Autoruns report 1.3.0.0
    Add-Remove and Ccleaner programs list report 1.4.0.0
