for you privacy nerds like me if you use keepass (block it in your firewall of course) grab the (hibpoffline plugin) https://github.com/mihaifm/HIBPOfflineCheck grab the 15gb database: (extracts to 37gb!) direct: https://downloads.pwnedpasswords.com/passwords/pwned-passwords-sha1-ordered-by-hash-v8.7z torrent: https://downloads.pwnedpasswords.com/passwords/pwned-passwords-sha1-ordered-by-hash-v8.7z.torrent automatically checks (offline) for any entry you put into keepass, or can scan all required.... after i downloaded the updated list i press "clear status" to remove the "secure" flag from all my entries in keepass then press "check all passwords" gives you a clear list (which you can order your database by so you know if any pwnage on any of your passwords) and with the offline plugin, nothing is sent to the web, once again block your keepass.exe from the web via firewall ** you have to do the checks per database (if you have multiple then for each do the clear/check all) an example of some pwned..... one I dont care about, the other is one of my ex's........ should i tell her!!? nah!
also just for info, the last nov 17th offline database from hibp was around 29GB extracted ........... this new database updated in in December is now 38GB.......... less than a month and 9GB of leaked passwords!
