Was there some serious optimization done also? Sandboxie was always nicely responsive but now it's instant, at least running Classic. Like lightning. :thumb:

Thanks a lot for the quick update. It even seems to fix the newly described problems with recent Opera browser reported only 2 days ago!

Therefore I really really don't want to sound impudent or ungrateful - but for the near future - may I still remind you of your own excellent proposal to implement checkboxes into the Sandbox-options-section about forced programs and folders.

Just now with the recently introduced problems by latest Opera I had to change between forced/or-not Opera-installation-folders for test-purposes back and forth and it would indeed have made things a lot easier if I had not been compelled to delete these folders from the forced-list entirely first and then having to re-declare them from scratch again for the next round of testing.

Thank you very much for the update.

The "SBIE2101" problem no longer occurs with this version. :)

Do you mean that Plus is now just as fast as Sandboxie Classic? I haven't tried Sandboxie Plus for a while because it was quite buggy when it came to the GUI, it freezed sometimes.

It reads to me as if he means that classic is now even faster than it was before.

btw: what was the name of that two anti keyloggers you want to work in sbie so urgently? can you provide download links for booth please

With regard the the Plus UI you should try it again, its much more mature in the recent builds.

EDIT: I have tried out GhostPress in my VM and it seams to work fine, i can open a sandboxed firefox and type and ghost press says firefox.exe so seams fine, please test this softare again if it works for you also

EDIT2: SpyShelter seams to work in notepad but fail in firefox providing randum mumbers instead of letters is that the bug you are having

I will check it out, but can you perhaps also remove the focus rectangle (dotted lines) in the SBIE Plus GUI, it's always visible, not only when you select a sandbox like in Sandboxie Classic. Call me crazy, but I can't stand it.

About SpyShelter and GhostPress, you should run a browser sandboxed and then you should run the two keylogger simulators, see links. You will see that both SpyShelter and GhostPress will fail to block these simulators from recording keystrokes. But they will block it correctly when the browser is NOT running sandboxed.

Funny that certain people still not know that you're female, perhaps we should get a gender sign on this forum like back on the days on social media, I believe MySpace had this LOL. And Sandboxie Classic has always been fast for me.

Unfortunately I'v been premature in reporting that the latest upgrade to Sanboxie_Plus v.0.9.8 would already fix the newly discovered problems wit advanced Opera_developer-browser v.82. In fact it does NOT! Currently I have no idea how I could have gotten this wrong initially?!

Fact is that current production-version of Opera v.80 is the last one that will run sandboxed with HW-acceleration=ON. All advanced developer-versions of Opera from then on up to latest v.82 will only lauch with HW-acceleration set to OFF! Otherwise only an empty white screen will open up which after a few seconds will carry a message in the title-bar saying "Opera # (no response)".

Even if I've been wrong in initially reporting that Sanboxie_Plus v.0.9.8 would fix this I'd like to emphasize once more that this is not Sandboxies fault as these problems have clearly been introduced by latest/future changes made by Opera-developers.

Sbie Classic 5.53.1 installed over the top. Licence Agreement now shown at install.

Sbie Plus 0.9.8b installed over the top. Sandman restarted after install as shown by icon in taskbar.

However a reboot is required or a taskbar icon is shown for every instance you start a sandboxed item. They all act as one, they all have flames on when active (warmed my hands up !!) and all icons put the flames out when closing a Sbie instance....

Doesn't happen after a restart of machine. Screenshot shows Plus taskbar icons directly after install and after opening and closing sandboxed browser 3 times.

    @stapp
and after a reboot there is only one instance of sandman and it stays one? strange that the single process instance code would wail in that way, but I'll investigate that

Just in case it makes a difference to your investigations, each of the taskbar icons was produced by right-clicking on a browser icon and selecting run sandboxed and then choosing a box (default box)

ah damn it i think i know thats the issue, the sandman started by the installer runs as admin and the one started by the right click menu does not, hence thay cant communicate.
will have to look into the installer how to fix that

Glad that you have worked out what the issue is. Hope you can fix (although a reboot sorts it out)

You can just terminate all sandmans and start a new one instead of a full reboot,
I already found a fix how to make the installer start the sandman as non elevated user so the issue will be solved in next build
