It's ok. They don't know how to write either. It won't be long before they don't know how to read because everything will just be a YouTube video.

In a modern concept folders and files are replaced by libraries and collections, similar but not the same. In an administrated environement user dont need to think about folders and files.

The problem is that if they do not understand basics, they suffer consequences, like backups for starters. They do not understand, that software or hardware can easily fail. They expect than someone/something is taking care of that.
Technically they are right, most services do backups by default, if they allow it, but people get scared once they read something about privacy, so they avoid MS/Google login and imagine that cloud does not work without logging in.

that may happen, but as i wrote - under an administrated envronement that is not needed. documents are placed in a chosen context in a database. example: no one need to know how youtube is storing videos. on my work palce i dont need to know where images and plans are stored - i use the given database and search with the project number.

the article mentioned android - yes, people do not need to know where android stores images or music, they open eg "google images" or the music player. this is the same. and people wonder why storage is full with images, videos and voice messages from whatsapp - lol (i know such people which dont have any clue about, they just use whatsapp and need a new phone because internal memory is maxed out)

Or onedrive on windows 10. or ms account. account is not really needed to work with windows, but its mandatory for apps and cloud storage. users dont care about. android, windows and some more are no longer that transparent for this and that article just describes this circumstance i read since windows 10 arrived.

The sheer amount of people that do not even back up their data is alarming like I only know one person personally who backs up their computer onto an external drive using True Image....The rest may copy the odd file to a usb stick but they'd never think about backing up their computers (including my own family members, which if I didn't automate it for them, they'd be royally screwed).

Companies do not want people to make local backups, so they keep quiet about it in favour of selling cloud services and ant-virus / security software, which it is a very good money maker as you give the user a false sense of being fully protected.

Heh, it's more than just students. It's the majority of the population I'd say.

USA still the best. But barely.
They don't know how to add/subtract & multiplication/division is rocket science to them. And within a decade kids won't understand why they're wearing masks. Just like some adults don't understand the benefits of wearing masks today.

The problem is that the environment starts with computers and ends with society in general.
The idea that "experts" are to be trusted with all decisions is dangerous, and our ignorance is their strength.

Just like me, I don't get it. People use them because health authorities say so. From a scientific pov there's no conclusive evidence they are efficient, o the contrary, they can impact negatively your health.
Exactly this is happening today with this Plandemic. No one question authorities. Most measures taken are based on pseudoscience.
Reputable scientists are tagged as conspiranoids if they dare to criticize the official narrative.

LoL what an stupid reply, is not surprising roflmao.
But given the fact all my replies are going to be deleted there's no point to mount a discussion here.
So this is my last reply and it doesn't mean you, any of you, won this little discussion.
