"A hamster has been trading cryptocurrencies in a cage rigged to automatically buy and sell tokens since June - and it's currently outperforming the S&P 500 -- As of Friday, the portfolio was up nearly 24%...

A hamster in Germany is redefining "A Random Walk Down Wall Street" author Burton Malkiel's belief that a blindfolded monkey throwing darts at a stock ticker list in the newspaper could do just as good as a human investment professional...

First, Goxx runs on the "intention wheel" to pick which one of about 30 cryptocurrencies to trade. Once the crypto is chosen, the hamster runs through one of two "decision tunnels" that trigger either a buy or sell trade of the chosen cryptocurrency..."

White Hat Hacker Earns $2 Million Bounty for Finding, Patching 'Critical Bug' in Ethereum Scaling Platform

"A white hat hacker and iOS Cydia jailbreak software developer has earned a reward of $2 million...after fixing a "critical bug" in Ethereum Layer 2 scaling project Optimism which could have allowed hackers to create as much Ether in an Optimism account balance as they wanted. Optimism announced that the bug was discovered earlier this month and has been subsequently fixed by an iOS developer who goes by the name Jay Freeman on Twitter, allowing him to earn one of the largest bug-finding awards to date..."

Meh. There are far more concerning and immediate issues today. Like having all of your money in this system and having it stolen by hackers.

This is understandable. But if one isn't into crypto, the most concerning is climate change. (to me, at least). And those numbers sicken me. But some in the thread disputed that (I can see why, too :cautious:). Don't mess with one's success, it seems.

I mostly don't find those numbers believable. I'm sure any major data centers use a lot of electricity but how much of that processing time is being claimed for this? I would think simply posting a reply to this discussion would consume just as many resources. I'd want t see very detailed information on how this is being divided up vs. any other computing transaction.
