Yet another reason to drive something else. That said, anything you connect to with your phone could potentially do the same thing so I guess people should be careful of what they connect to in general.

That keeps up it's time to start driving those Gasser's again and the more mechanical SENSIBLE type of motor vehicles. (Minus the bumper jacks though)

Yeah most new cars have Apple Carplay and Android Auto now, the thing is that it is standard on most models, so people can connect their phone for free integrated navigation, while built-in navigation usually costs a hefty fee extra. That is a lot of potential data theft.

I have always been a volvo driver myself preferably the older ones pre-1995.This technology really does not belong in vehicles.

Black boxes will no doubt be installed as standard in the near future plus the advent of autonomous vehicles is upon us too.

Interesting. There's quite the long list of vehicles using EDR's:

Or at least vehicles that support EDR's.

    Which tech?

Android Auto, so that people can connect their phone for free integrated navigation - looks like a bonus to me.
Or, infotainment systems to secretly download and store drivers’ private text conversations?
