Hi all, I am running Appguard and Zemana Antilogger and have been trying to use McAfee Total Protection for the past year and a half. The AV app keeps failing at intermittent intervals. Usually every 4 to 6 weeks but sometime sooner than that. I was wondering if you folks could recommend a good AV/Firewall app that will run with the two apps I am running. If the AV app provides anti-keylogging I will happily drop the Zemana product even though I have 2.5 years left on my 3 year subscription. I have excluded McAfee from protection in both Appguard and Zemana and am at a loss as to what the best course of action is.

Thanks in advance for any help you folks can provide.

No advice as to your main concern but I'd get rid of Zemana ASAP since product development is dead. It might even fix your problem.

While Î can't advice on your question,
I can advice, if you are running W10:
Drop all of your security stuff, and use Microsoft Defender, with high setting, by ConfigureDefender.

I would also advise to drop Zemana.

OT: Seeing we are advising security setups:

Configure Defender with Simple Windows Hardening

    or

    Configure Defender with Voodoo Shield

    Free, and very effective.

I concur in what others have said, Defender in, ZAM out. Defender is more then enough these days and paired with Configure Defender even better. Use the inbuilt firewall with an extension like Simplewall, preferably, or Evorim d.o, to make it easy to handle. Ghostpress for keylogging, or Keyscrambler.

Another set up would be Defender with Spyshelter free, the latter has a keylogger and firewall.

ZAL seems dead for 3 years now, why having a not really used license? geez, who buy such old (and buggy) crap?

Windows 10? forget mcafee and the rest (this includes spyshelter), use as recommended:
and try to get along with it, it has any current features as other too.

Thank you all for the advice. I will re-read carefully and reset my security protocols. Especially thanks for the defender advice.

    @bgoodman4,
I recently bought a new Dell Inspiron 16 laptop that came with a free McAfee Total Protection subscription (for the 1st year).
McAfee has been working well (no hiccups), but then again I've only had the laptop for 3 weeks! Furthermore, I am not using any other Antivirus/Antimalware product.
