Sandboxie Plus 0.9.3

This is a maintenance release, fixing a few bugs and improving the usability with various small new features.

If you have issues with an update installation, just uninstall the previous version keeping the sandboxie.ini and reinstall the new build.
You can support the project through donations, any help will be greatly appreciated.

Some people wahted this feature from the SbieCtrl, with the recent build its in although as a new window and not in the main ui




Now my question would it make sense to make it a side panel or a panel with the logs or above the logs, showing the contents of the current selected sandbox?
I would definetly not want to have it take the place of the main window content as it does in sbiectrl, than rather leave it as a new window

Also please note that we here have the full windows context menu at our disposal, a major improvement over the nominalistic menu of the old ui

 

are there any errors thrown?
this is very strange as almost all the changes in this build were to the plus ui components

 

I would make it in dockable panel/window style.

One suggestion about the sorting of right click menu, after I almost accidentialz deleted my main game box.
Could you bundle the dangerous, changing options in a submenu or at least put them together?
Snapshots Manager, Recover Files, Delete Content, Rename Sandbox, Remove Sandbox.

Suggestion, which makes the menu less clunky too (----- = Seperator line)

Besides this new version, still stable, as the ones before.

I still fail to get GOG Galaxy running in SB, the communication service just doesn't want to run proper. As well as No Mans Sky. Still wonder what the issue of both programs is, but maybe one day I find it

 

the plus ini is located separatly form the normal ini under C:\Users\...\AppData\Local\Sandboxie-Plus probably you did not delete it?
Anyhow it does not mater as all the settings there are only relevant for the plus UI and not for any core functionality.

 

Automatic deletion set after a clean installation is not automatic, the sandbox content is not deleted even though processes are stopped and automatic deletion is enabled. I exited the program correctly. at new version (0,94) too and at old (0,93)

 

Well currently ist already reasonably organized imho
run/terminate
content related options: expore till delete
options that change box config or removes it

I'm not against re structuring but dont liek the sugested layout that much

This release fixes an incompatibility with windows server 2022 and presumably Windows 21H2 (once its out), it also adds a hand full of useful improvements allowing automatically starting selected boxes at system boot, as well as auto start the box content.

@DavidXanatos general testing OK, games good as before, no hiccups on fast test. Checked the menu for groups, which does work, however the context menu for move to group is still greyed out (disabled), also the context menu of group and sandbox is messy, group shows all goodies for groups, like add and so on, while SBs show the correct SB menu. This is one reason, I suggested the change for the menu. No pushing though. Just feedback, try and you see. If none else I would at least suggest to make a standard group sub menu to all entries. Makes it more smooth less, IFs, if you use that, or selects or whatever cool thing you use.

 

"move to group is still greyed" seams t happen only if you use the mein manu create groupe and also only untill restart thanit works
and it works id you creat a groupe form the context menu, willl be fixed in next build

Any way to stop Edge Chrome starting on first launch with a warning about "Administrator Mode Detected"?

This is not a new issue with 0.9.5

Sure no hurry, never heard @Brummelchen anymore talking about it, maybe he doesn't use it anymore. Just think if we have a function it should work OK. Then again, maybe nobody needs it!? I thought if I could sort a bit but, can live without too.

One bug I forgot to mention since you added the new designed start with SB, the choice window stays in background and you need to make it active to use and select the box to use. Small fix I guess.

 

Sorting will be added in next build, also wil look into fixing the choice window

W7-64bit. Have been using SBIE for 5+ years. I just updated to the newest Classic v5.51.5, but had the issue of SBIECtrl.exe not executing on its own when launching a boxed browser, so had to manually start it.

So uninstalled, and installed SBIE-Plus (latest v0.95) to see if I'd have better luck (as from what I read that bug was supposedly fixed, but maybe not for W7?). Am using Waterfox and Brave browsers.

Sometimes SBIE-Plus won't launch when I click on a browser that's boxed (this is an initial launch, before I've used SBIE yet on the current boot), so same issue as with Classic. Other times SBIE-Plus will launch (on the initial instance) BUT ...

...the GUI pops up in the main window first, (which is not how I am used to SBIE behaving) then when the browser opens, the SBIE GUI window is behind it, and so in the taskbar. I have to manually close it to make it only appear in the system tray where it belongs. Is this is a setting I can disable? In past versions when I clicked on a boxed browser, the SBIE GUI icon would appear in the system tray and the browser would simply open. No SBIE windows to close.

Also, if it matters, SBIE-Plus is using the original Classic .ini. A final note: if I EXIT the SBIE icon in sys tray (closes SBIECtrl), then later click on a boxed browser, SBIE won't launch... so SBIECtrl.exe is not getting the message. Thanks for any guidance.
