While doing Google search for new distros to try out in LiveCD mode, I ran across this site: https://www.summertime.tech/dtw.EN.html I'd like opinions as to the accuracy of what it has to say. Also, how big a threat to privacy is KUserFeedback, and can it be enabled remotely? Thanks for any input.
Should be taken with a grain of salt, depends of your destktop environnement and what software you've have installed or removed. For example in the report Manjaro Linux Xfce is categorized in "warning" category, but until you don't install kde related software (K3b, Kshutdown........), which install Kcrash or KUserFeedback, you won't be spying. Geoclue (location) should be enabled at default startup on Manjaro Xfce and can be disabed. Other side Debian, Mint, had popularity contest (user choice to enable or not). And if you know well setting up Iptables /nftables frontend or others like ufw, gufw, firewalld or shorewall for well manage NETFILTER firewall, nothing enter, go out, route, until you accept it. And KUserFeedback can't be enabled remotly until you accept it (means you're root password). So i will pass on that report My2cents
