Okay so I reupped my Windows 8 systems with updates etc.etc.

But I have one that shows 60 Importants and about 80 optionals

For pity sakes that one is been in the closet for years obviously. I'm not about to install one by one updates like I already did the other systems. They only required at most at worse 12 importants and few optionals.

Does anyone know a site where the whole pile is been compiled together? I doubt Microsoft in their stupidity mindset ever conceived to gather together a full set of updates for this platform and no way in hell im going to go thru a week of reboots.

Can anyone point me to or know of a fairly comprehensive set a 8 user could apply to allow the updates to install all at once.

It's stuff like this that turns my fury on them by their expecting us to nitpik each one by one etc.

    Thanks

Thought you agreed with me the other day that MDL forums is the right place to go for this type of things lol

There, abbodi1406 might help you in case of any doubt. He maintains all lists of updates for WHDownloader.

Sorry I surely forgot that. No easy effort playing catchup and I maintain a series of wonderful spectacular performing Windows 8 systems but can only do one at a time. That is when I get time to focus on that.

    Thanks.
EDIT: Guess the only reasonable and safe thing to do is research each one coz no way I will dare load this machine with hundreds of silly update installs to discover one that blue screens me with (Sorry, Windows Ran Into A Problem BSOD). Not only that but I run into one on the other that disabled a Win XP video player that is a mainstay and even works well on Windows 10. That may or may not have something to do with .NET changes. At least this way the culprit update can be removed.

@EASTER I'm curious as to why you wouldn't just let Windows Update download and install all the selected updates in one go?

Its a prob sometimes and a fact that you live with and try to time the best hours of maximum signal strength.

@Mr.X - That was a huge help. So far so good.

Heck I don't know what to make of Windows 7 devoted user's who have their systems running top notch and secured. Windows 8.1 is running like a well oiled machine and had for some years now. In fact so well a brand new Dell Windows 10 is sitting on the floor ignored, totally. Until I feel like monkeying with it again.

What the heck? I used the entire CMD file from that link to uninstall Telemetry in this one unit I opened this topic about and i'm not joking. For the past many hours it was dragging bad meaning slowing down. I defragmented twice-cleaned out junk files and same result. So I was going to put it away for another day to work on that, Before I did I ran that Github remove telemetry and was shutting it down, Took awhile but finally did. Then out of curiosity I booted it back up out of curiosity to see if that script did much or anything. Now the thing is snappier than ever!!! Obviously some telemetry updates was still in it dragging the whole system down almost to a crawl. Web Browsers was painful to get to run right. Now no matter how many windows are opened no stalling whatsoever. BIG THANKS to the developer from his Github file.

Just want to share this because while some updates might be efficient I can definitely confirm without reservation that after running the Remove telemetry from Github for 7 and 8- I ran the whole file and let it go. This unit is back happy as a lark and so am I.
