Exactly @Mr.X- But there must be masses of noobs who would rather scarf up trash builds by god knows who and apparently Kaspersky is getting flooded by customers who take those silly risks.

Probably everyone is. They are just nice enough to warn people. Any installers for Windows 11 should be digitally signed and posted with checksums. I'm not saying they are. But they should be. Stuff like this is probably why they are upping the hardware requirements. Whether or not they are successful in reducing malware is yet to be seen.

Good to know that Kaspersky not only warns about the "potential dangers" of software updaters.

Looks like they WANT to migrate further into machine hardware prerequisites before going showtime but you make a very good point. Even after that much, where's the newest anti-malware/virus/ransomware qualification. They need to become even more aggressive in development of a security that's improving but still far from immune to trickster actors in a meaningful way as is been seen with Windows 10. Won't even go there over the WannaCry massive hit on predecessors.

As I think about this and the fact that I have been using whatever version of Windows since the beginning... I really don't believe they have any intention of solving these problems. It would eliminate billions if not trillions of dollars worth of the 3rd party security industry. Plus, if they came up with something that actually worked, nobody would ever upgrade again out of fear of replacing the working thing with a new broken thing.

Point taken on the third party industry hit- yet also must consider this. It's not out of the question, and many do already, deploy layered AV as in MD + their preferred choice. (provided compatibility is acceptable).

The industry hit would be minimal so long as the AV's losing market on AV introduced even better formidable supplimentary support programs to enhance security. Because everyone knows a AV alone will never comprehensively seal all the vectors still aloof in windows framework.

But still, good point anyway. I'll go a step further, Microsoft see's no profit margin in expending additional resources to strengthen their AV beyond pretty much where it stands now. Remember, they are the PATCH master.
