Can you run two Ad Blockers on Safari or is that compairable to running two Antivirus software side by side on a computer which is not recommended? I'm running AdGuard and the Free Trial of 1Blocker Premium on Safari now without any problems. There are some websites where 1Blocker doesn't block ads but AdGuard does and visa versa. Am I looking at trouble down the road using these two together?
I have often wondered about this, but FWIW I run more than one ad-blocker in Firefox and Chrome and have not had any problems I am aware of. I see no ads.
using 2 adblockers is not recommended, improve one of those with lists and drop the other. Adguard is fine. "1Blocker Premium" looks like a "sell water as wine" crap. you can almost forget and drop paid extension crap, there exist so many free ad-blockers. i use ublock in any browser and umatrix as an additional component where ublock cannot do or only with many workarounds. on my smartphone i use the (paid, lifetime) adguard premium app.
I would not use anything that did not have the capability to import. AdGuard's defaults are already OK out of the box but I still found I needed to import a few lists. I don't use it now due to a small but constant cpu consumption (1%). Was minimal but annoying. Occ. you can find AG lifetime license for pennies on the dollar. I got mine off of ghacks for like 20 bucks. I'm sure there are deals around that are better still.
i paid $27 ($3 discount, 10%, stacksocial) for lifetime and 3 devices. i only use it on android although i can use it also on windows. but windows is secured elsewhere, and ublock does the rest. currently, i run the nightly because of issues in the final. getting offtopic now. adguard extensions is fine, limited for my behavior, thus i prefer ublock (dont like adblock plus)

Thank you all for the feed back. I have 10 Lifetime AdGuard licenses. I bought them years ago when they were on sale for myself and family. Can't remember how much I paid for them but it was cheap. On macOS Catalina. Soon to be upgrading to Big Sur. I'm thinking of doing that. I'll probably give AdGuard some feedback on some of the ads it's not blocking for me that 1Blocker is blocking using Safari. AdGuard works fine on Firefox and Chrome on the Mac, it's just the Safari Browser a few ads are not blocked.
Me? I simply install the Adguard DNS. No need for ad block software. Which doesn't work on IOS/IPADOS BTW. You will have to install the Adguard DNS there for ad-free web surfing.
I'm running Adguard and Kaspersky Protection on Safari without any problem, but perhaps Kaspersky Protection is not considered as an ad-blocker ?
Well, slightly off-topic, but I recently found Vivaldi (on macOS) was all of a sudden breaking functions like chat on some sites I use. Disabling all extensions didn't help. Until I realised I had Vivaldi's own internal adblocker running as well as uBO. Once I disabled the internal blocker everything was back to normal. So there probably must have been some adblocker conflict somewhere. Safari uses WebKit as a rendering engine and I believe Blink (Vivaldi) is a fork of WebKit. So my recommendation would be to just run one adblocker on Safari.
In AdGuard Pro both content blockers for Safari and system-wide DNS filtering are available. You can use a blocking DNS server and/or add blocking lists - the ones I use have nearly 300,000 rules.
I've been testing out the new release of Malwarebytes Browser Guard for Safari and AdGuard together. Running good, no conflicts.
I wouldn't expect 2 ad blockers to produce the kind of conflict that 2 antivirus products would. If they both would block the same ad the first one to get to it would do so and the second one would never encounter it. Probably no fighting or crashes. The only issue I would expect would be resource usage. They may slow you down if they consume too many resources, but that is probably about it.
